Almost forgot to pack my swimsuit! I got mine packed - did someone say it was a saltwater pool? I am rethinking the pants and sweaters since the weather is going to be about 10 degrees warmer than predicted two weeks ago. So I pulled out a bunch of shorts instead; will bring some pants/long sleeves for evenings and will have to reorganize the suitcase tonight. 4 more work hours and I am outta here until October 2nd. Of course, they are squeezing as much work outta me as possible, so it's been a particularly busy day.

Have a wonderful time in Quebec City. I do feel badly that I've had to miss a get-together here in Canada and all of you are making a great effort to get here. However, if those of you going to Montreal next week can let me know what your itinerary is, it is very possible that I can join you at least for a day.

Durn, Jan. We'll miss seeing you. One of these days we'll get to see you and Liz again.
Take care,

Last morning in Quebec. The six left - Sandra, Pam, Phizz, Tracy, Suanne and I - are having breakfast at the hotel. During the week we went to Tim Hortons or this pastry place up the street. Thought the hotel was a bit pricey. We did the $19 buffet, but there are cheaper things. Very good food. If I knew this I could have come down here half tired and in my flip flops.
Had an another great year thanks to everyone! Love ya!

Got home last night just before 9. Had a great time, it was lovely to meet our Canadian friends for the first time and spend time with old friends. Miss everyone already and was sad to leave, but I am already looking forward to next year.
Will try to post pictures this weekend.

Late to the show but I'm here to thank Bucky and Jamers for their company in Montreal. Apologies for the heat that day .... summer just couldn't make up its mind when it wanted to make its short appearance this year and the time of Horatians' visit to Canada was it. Jamers, I hope you didn't have any ill effects after all the walking we did. I was pooped on Wednesday and skipped gym class. Your hotel was conveniently located for getting around - close to the metro (subway) and the Old Port. I take the train when I come to Montreal so we did our sightseeing within the time slot between arrival and departure. We started off walking down (and up, too, as there's a slope in the road) rue St Urbain to the Old Port area. The walk took us past Notre Dame Basilica and Liz's favourite hotel, the Saint Sulpice. Evenings in the basilica is presented Aura, a sound and light show. There didn't appear to be anything interesting happening at the port that morning so we kept walking looking for the metro station to take us to somewhere cool .... like the underground shopping passage downtown. We beat the lunchtime crowd at Complexe Desjardins in the food court. Our one historical tour (also taken to just get out of the heat) was the Chateau Ramezay on Notre Dame E. It chronicles the history of Montreal. www.chateauramezay.qc.ca/en/museum/history/We were close to Place Jacques Cartier where there are loads of places to eat and we plonked ourselves on the terrace of a lovely restaurant full of flowers. By now the sun was down behind the buildings and the heat was more bearable. It was a short stroll back to the Place d'Armes metro stop and the hotel so we said good-byes and I headed back to the train station. It was a lovely day and we didn't buy anything!
