Expedia changed my flight. So, instead of enjoying Monday breakfast and all with you, I would leave before the sun rose and get back home. So, I redid my flight - thank goodness for flight insurance - and am leaving Tuesday morning at that same early bird time. On Monday, after we say goodbyes, I was going to go to one of the airport hotels and get the flight the next morning. I could possibly get one of those two stop flights, it would be one thing if I was going to California or across the USA, but I am going up the coast. Don’t want to stay all day in the plane for a 1 1/2 to 2 hr flight.
What time are people, who have their travel plans leaving on Monday?
Edit: Plus another thing - I got a room at the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson it is about 2 miles from the Savannah airport and from Tanger Outlets. It would be fun to go there. Anyone game?

I am driving back, so I don't have a specific agenda per se.
I know that the check out time for the house will be 10:00 A.M. I have inquired about a later check out, but none of the property managers have addressed that in their responses so I will have to check again when I re-connect with them.
If people have later flights on Monday, we can arrange for stuff to do between the check out and flight times if the need arises.

We haven't booked our flights yet, but more than likely we will fly in on Wednesday and leave either Sunday eve or Monday. We will probably rent a car, and will be happy to coordinate any airport pick ups... well, depending on which airport... Plan A says Savannah. Thank you, Tracy for doing the legwork. We look forward to seeing everybody

In the final negotiations with the property manager - I have asked for a 10% discount on total and a later check out on Monday. IMO this will be our best bet (less than a block from ocean and down near the action). Each person will have their own bed.
House 7 bed/6 bath
ETA: I heard back from the property manager. She will give us a $250.00 discount off the final price. So the breakdown is as follows:
$3775.67 5 nights -$250.00 discount $3525.67 total
So everyone's share would be $352.56 (new total divided by 10). ETA #2: She gave me a total of $3482.82 so the total per person will be $348.28.
Once this is finalized (i.e., adjustment to the deposit/balance amounts), I will let you know what is due (deposit and balance). You can either pay all at once, or the deposit first and then the balance when due (in August I believe). Your choice. I would prefer Paypal since you are also able to pay using a credit card (in addition to debit/checking), if that is your choosing.
If we are all good with it, I will book it!
83 days to go!

Yeah -- I am so excited for this trip! It'll be great to see everyone again.
I edited my post above because I just got a message from the property manager, but just in case you miss it I am reposting. The total is $3482.82, so the new total per person will be $348.28. That is a little less than $70 a night per person! Cannot beat that.
ETA #3: We also will be able to get a later check out time, depending on if anyone books the house after us. So it will range between an hour and up. She is more than willing to work with us on that aspect. There are beach supplies (wagon, chairs, etc.) but we will have to bring our own beach towels. I can bring some with me, if anyone else driving can also (not sure I have 10).

I am packing a towel and can bring some more. Love that they have chairs!

Thank you for all of your hard work, Tracy! I will send you the money via Paypal next Friday, once I get paid. Can’t wait to see everyone. Excited that I will have Sandra’s company for the drive. We’ll need to leave before 10:00 to get Sandra back to Raleigh for her flight. I will plan on bringing a beach towel. Woo hoo!

Here are the financials. Deposit has been made; balance due on August 13. If you want to pay total, or just your share of deposit and then balance in August, it's up to you.
$3482.82
$1836.41 Deposit made = $183.64 per person $1646.41 Balance due 8/13 = $164.64 per person
Or $348.28 in one payment.
tralee1111@yahoo.com for Paypal
Cancellation with no penalty by July 14.
If we want to pay for damage/insurance it is $59.00 with no deductible. Optional.
I am also going to try and negotiate an earlier check in time. For some reason, silly me = I thought it was 10:00 AM but it's late afternoon. Kathee has been great to deal with and very accommodating for us so far. Since we're booking mid-week, there may not be another group right before us, but I will monitor the situation.
As for rental cars, I can't imagine that anyone will need to rent a car unless you absolutely want to (why not save $$ where you can!). Between me, Pam and Suanne, we can probably fit everyone comfortably (my car can carry 7 without luggage; 5 with). Phizz, I know you are getting in a day early so it's up to you, but maybe rent it for a day and then turn it in? Just a thought. The house does have parking for 4-5 cars.

This sounds great, Bucky. I'll send the money. Note that if you can, send the money "friends and family" so there won't be fees taken out.
I think the insurance is a good idea.

Thanks for mentioning that Mags. Be sure to choose that option on Paypal.
Yours has been received Mags, thanks!!
If you don't want to do Paypal and want to write a check(s), please let me know and I will send you my address.
I too think the insurance is worth it, so I am going to choose that option.

Just to clarify, the dates are definitely September 12-17, then?

Just to clarify, the dates are definitely September 12-17, then? Yes -- those dates. I believe that was the week that the most people could attend. And someone asked me = is that $59 insurance per person. No, it is $59 per $1,500 total coverage; $79 for $3000 total; $99 for $5000 total. There is also cancellation protection option for $156.72 in the event of flight or travel delays due to adverse weather, sickness or injury, theft of passport or loss of employment.

So the $99 comes out to about $10 per person, which seems like a good idea to me. Is there a deductible? Or is that basically the deductible for the homeowner's insurance?
