<blush> It has happened. Nosey's sister has found herself giggling and blushing and in the usual state of early fangirlism. I blame (or rather honour, so take whichone you choose) our dear WinterMoon for it for posting the Whitechapel spoof. I have been able to resist Roo's charms for quite some years now, though I've always enjoyed his Captain Wentworth. And now? After watching the spoof for the umpteenth time, I watched more and more things on youtube, read about him and - lo and behold! - he got me. Aaaand: I've already made a few icons one of which will soon replace poor old Sebastian, my current icon. Which one do you prefer? New fan Intensity Staring In order to get more acquainted with the board, I'm even adding a poll:

Aren't the first stages of star-struck wonderful? I remember going nuts for Ioan and having to read everything I could find! Course then, there wasn't much, but I loved it!
Have fun!

Several of us saw Rupert Penry-Jones on stage as Louis XIV, in a play called Power several years ago at the National Theatre in London. The play starred Robert Lindsay (which would explain why I was there), and was a fun night's entertainment........I've been watching for Penry-Jones since then.....
Cheers

Lucky you, LizMc! I'd also have gone for Robert Lindsay live. What a treat - you go to see a really great actor and get eye-candy in addition. Why much I would have liked this! When was it, if I may ask? Oh, and Phizz, I, too, remember my first "sceen-contact" with Ioan. I'll never forget that, it was almost 10.5 years ago, thanks to a friend who thought that a proper Sharpe-Fan should also know Hornblower's world. Well, my life hasn't been the same since.

It was in the fall of 2003 (10 years ago?!?.....bloody hell.....) It was the first time I saw Robert on stage.....the rest of the cast was very strong, with Penry-Jones, Stephen Boxer, Jonathan Slinger, Barbara Jefford, and very funny......of all of us who went, I believe only mmt and I are still posting...... Here is a review of the play. Cheers

However, just by the review, I'd say it must have been a perfect role for RPJ. - Now, why on earth is he so unknown in this part of the world? And when will we finally get #Whitechapel IV?! -- oops, too much activity on twitter lately, I fear. ;-) As for October 2003, I had already discovered Ioan a few months ago, but had not yet come across horatians. Or at least I was only using the photo-ecards with a friend... Oh my, the time! It has flown so much, so quickly!

I like this picture of oh-so-serious Inspector Chandler. Remember when the doomsday sect thought he was an Angel.

Oh. My. Goodness. *fanning to self* I still need to watch Whitechapel IV, and I had set myself to go for Spooks 5 (abridged version) this month and Whitechapel IV next. However, dear WinterMoon, you have just provoked one of my infamous insecurities and inabilities to choose between two goodies. (I'm trying to be a good girl to have as long as possible something new to discover...)
However - *faintthud* <insert exploding smilie in here>

Oh, you haven't watched series 4 yet... Sorry about the spoiler. I believe poor Adam goes through a lot of pain and crap in season 5 of Spooks. Bring handkerchiefs and lots of chocolate!

Don't worry, contrary to the rest of the world, I somehow like to be spoilt. And while on photo-search and hunting down articles and interviews, you cannot help but getting spoilt here and there. And don't forget music clips on youtube... Don't get me started. <lol> One reason for spoiling myself is that I can only very badly handle tension and it helps me getting through these scenes if I know what's about to come. So, I highly appreciate your pics - they are absolutely, fabulously awesome!

Update on Rupert, as he tweeted on 11 June (but I found it only this evening): "Hello everyone. My wife and I are doing a short performance for @makinglight2014 check it out and come along an amazing cause" and: "Check it out and come along. I am very nervous as I haven't been on stage for years makinglight.org.uk/the-event/" It looks like a very worthy thing, and I would dearly love to go but apart from the lack of money, I would not even get a few days off right now. So I'm hoping for a new chance to see him live.

After a long pause without any particular news, I found this on RPJ's twitter:
I don't know the author, so I cannot say anything about the novel itself but the cast doing this drama is just ... wowzers!
