Tracy (Bucky) and I have decided to make the date and hotel official for the gathering. Pamski has offered to look up into some events to do. We did this so those of us, who have to put in for vacation time, can do so. Plus, those of you who need to save up can.
date: September 27 to October 2
Unfortunately that week is sold out at the hotel. I am going to get us a different week OR we can get another hotel, but it may be more expensive. Will be calling the hotel for more information.
New date: Tuesday, September 19 to Monday, September 24
I called the Hotel Manoir Victoria and the only week they have available is September 19 to September 24, with some openings for September 25, if some people want to stay until Tuesday.
The events can be Wednesday to Sunday.
hotel: the Hotel Manoir Victoria in Quebec
Details: standard double room with 2 double beds for $255.00 a night. Put aside 12 rooms for us and price will be the same if we only have 6 rooms.
#######*****###### Just to tell you all of this is in Canadian dollars - money conversion means $255 = $191.41 Canadian, not US. As of March 2017 #####*****#####
Breakfast is $21.85 and not free, but there are tons of restaurants in a two street radius and a Tim Horton's next door to the hotel. (According to Google maps).
I put the rooms under the name - Horatians. Say you are part of the group and call the hotel direct and you can pay for your, as we normally do when we do these. I spoke with Dorothy and she said that the block of 12 rooms will be held until two weeks before September 19.
I would like a head count of who is going. Last night, I did a head count based on past gatherings and who said they were interested and about 20 people.
Info about hotel: Hotel Manoir Victoria 44 Cote du Palais Ville de Quebec, QC G1R 4H8 Canada 🇨🇦 1-418-692-1030
go on Google if you want to check out more details about the hotel and all.
events while we are there are still up for votes and discussion. 😊 Pam AND Tracy have said they will be in charge of that. 😊
Hope this is good with everyone. 🤗 Hugs! 🤗

I have put in for the week to get coverage at work, so hopefully I am the first one to ask.
I think the only sure thing is high tea at the Chateau so far.
The price isn't bad for the bus tours.
I am not sure if anyone ever uses Booking.com, but I use them to book all my hotels and have great success. You don't have to tie up your credit card (although you have to use one to hold your reservation) and there is no cancellation fee unless you cancel within 24 hours of your arrival. I punched in those dates and the prices are reasonable for sure. Hotel Manoir Victoria Booking.com Page It looks like they have 5 different room choices. ETA: Well now it says they are sold out for those dates ..... and the hotel website says the same. Ut oh.
Wow - cool. This is only 6 months away!

Here is a link: www.toursvieuxquebec.com/assets/files/guide-tours-vieux-quebec.pdfHope this is good with everyone. 🤗 Hugs! 🤗 Re the Bus Tour.....those buses won't be able to get down the narrow streets......you are better off taking a tour with a company that has small passenger van sized buses...or do the tour on the large bus just as a preview and walk the rest......it is a walker's city.....

So is the $255 Canadian or US? Because $255 CAD (Canadian Dollars) is $190 USD. If the $255 is USD, then it is $341 CAD.

Just checking prices Don't forget taxes. Looks like they're running about 18.5 to 19% on top of the room price.
So to confirm, date Sept 19 to Sept 24 2017?

Next year, I feel we should nominate someone to get the hotel and we vote on everything else. It doesn't matter what we do when we get there, but we need a place to rest our heads and drop our luggage. What you all think?

This may be something people might want to put on the list to visit: www.pc.gc.ca/en/lhn-nhs/qc/saintlouisfortsThe Chateau Frontenac is built over the site of the original Governor's residence, Chateau St Louis......there has been an archeological dig going on there for a few years now, and Parks Canada has opened it up to visit.
