The three are all within an hour distance from each other and we can visit all or just one. Question is where should home base be? Should we stay at the beach in Tybee and then go into Savannah or should we stay in Savannah and visit Tybee and just go to the beach for one day? Then there is the wild card of sorts - Hilton Head. It’s at the beach and has a lighthouse and other attractions.
please vote for your favorite, thanks! Bucky is in charge of getting the actual place and then we pay her for the cost of the renting. 😀

I'm always about the beach! Savannah would be my second choice.

Decisions, decisions!
I like either Tybee or downtown Savannah, so I am not sure where to make my mark. There are some pros and cons to either. I do have a question, though: is there air conditioning in the beach rentals?

I imagine that all rentals have a/c, especially in the south. But I will check each house link and make sure.
I honestly don't have a preference as to the location, but I would kind of like to be able to sit on the porch each morning and listen the waves!

I am not much of a beach person so my preference would be Savannah and visit Tybee.

Ok seeing as the majority of votes are going to Tybee Island to stay at, and as Hilton Head would probably be out because of distance from Savannah (30 minute drive), here are the current choices narrowed down to date:
Tybee Island 1 <--- $539 a night. 8 bed/4 bath Tybee Island 2 <--- $539 a night. 7 bed/6 bath Tybee Island 3 <--- $700 a night. 8 bed/5 bath Tybee Island 4 <--- $489 a night. 7 bed/4 bath Tybee Island 5 <--- $506 a night. 8 bed/5 bath Tybee Island 6 <--- $752 a night. 9 bed/6 bath Daufuskie Island <--- $945 a night. 8 bed/8 bath
Keep in mind that these sleep at least 14 (with couples sharing one bed; each singleton having their own bed - no top bunks) so the prices are good (there is an extra fee for cleaning + taxes so the nightly fee is just that). If we go above and beyond 14 folks, that can be figured out. If anything, if we have people that cannot commit until just before the moot, they can claim a top bunk. Also, there are plenty of smaller rentals that they could book if that is the option they would want to choose. We would at least have a common area at the large house that everyone can gather at.

As you know, I love house number one. House number 2 is very nice, too. I say that as nice as Daufuskie Island is, that one is out. Plus, the price is a bit high. House number 4 is a surprise because it doesn’t look much on the outside and I love all the twin beds. Because for us, that is a plus. It’s a nice house, too. Did you contact any of the people about renting? Good luck and hugs! Come on people, want to hear your two cents worth! 😀🤗 p.s. this place looks like a nice place for dinner one night. It’s called the Crab Shack. The have cats and gators there, too. The kitties are a bit like the kitties at Key West and they have a gator enclosure to view the gators. Crab Shack at Tybee Island Here’s an article about the cats at Crab Shack The kitties!

Must go to the Crab Shack for sure! Seafood and kitties, what is not to love?!
Well hells bells, the other gal on my team just put in PTO for October 11 - 15. Frustrating (as she subsequently asked for and took time off while I was at the moot last year). So, since that was the time frameish I gave her that I wanted off, I don't care if there are deadlines or trial at work. I am taking PTO whenever this moot is scheduled. Unfortunately that week may be out for me now unless there is coverage. Should we put up a tentative list to see what weeks work best for everyone?
ETA to add an availability list (will update accordingly as folks advise what weeks work best):
September 5-10 Mags, Tracy, Jamie
September 12-17 Mags, Tracy, Jamie
September 19-24 Tracy, Jamie
September 26-October 1 Tracy, Jamie
October 3-8 Tracy, Jamie
October 10-15 Mags, Jamie
October 17-22 Mags, Tracy, Jamie
October 24-29 Jamie

I like September 12-17 and October 17-22 best with September 5-10 as third choice.
Though, I can do any.
Edit: I noticed the later we go, the cheaper the rental is, but, then some things are closed for the winter. But, this is the south and not the north.

Bucky, thanks for posting possible house rentals and dates. I appreciate the work you've already put in. As to places to stay, I'm easy (you know what I mean). Preference would be for a bed to myself but not absolutely necessary. Whichever place is chosen, just tell me how much I need pay.
As to dates, I just this evening found out that grandchild #2 is expected end of September/beginning October but babies have their own timetables. Whichever dates are good for the group are fine with me because in the whole scheme of things, my presence on 'the day' is, like a bed to myself, not absolutely necessary.
I will explain that even though it doesn't appear that I check in often, it's because every time I clear the history, my sign in also disappears so I don't always log back in. But I'm still here and checking on what's happening.

I'll need to check the family's calendars to determine which dates work best for me. Little Ship is coming to visit and I also need to figure out how much vacation I have. I ended up having to take time off during the time we were evacuated.

So far the September 29th weekend does not work for me. Still checking the other ones.
