A question: are we going to tour the Naval Academy when we go to Annapolis? If not, can we? It would be fun to do it as a group. Their threshold for private group tours is 16 people. US Naval Academy Visitor PagePublic tours on Saturday are: 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Public Tour Fees: Adults – $10.50 Seniors (62+) – $9.50 We have 15 people right now; still waiting for Gayle to confirm. So we may qualify for the group tour but I see you have to book one month in advance. Otherwise, we can do a public tour and hope to all get in the same tour (not sure how many they take at a time). Hands up for those who would like to do this tour? Remember, we are having high tea at Reynold's Tavern at 3:00 PM so any tour would have to be completed by then. Otherwise, we'd have to push that start time back.

Would love to do this. Haven't been to USNA since Lt. Col Little Brother graduated.

I will (a) check with Gayle and (b) inquire about getting a private tour.
What time would you like to reserve? We are leaving the hotel at 9:30, 1/2 drive. If you look on the page, there are different tours as well.

You could just say we have sixteen and we can spilt the other ticket money wise. It would be great!

I am pretty sure Gayle is coming but have not had a chance to reconnect with her since late last week due to my work schedule. But that is good a idea, Jamie! I have an e-nail into them so I will let you know what they say.

I'm in (obviously). I think the Historical Tour is what we're interested in, right?

I think the Historical Tour is what we're interested in, right? That was what I was thinking too. By the way -- I will have one Annapolis visitor guide for each carload. They were quite stingy and would not send me more than 4. You would think they would want people to have the knowledge of what their city has to offer, but I digress. So if you want your own, you will need to send away for it!

So we doing the town and the academy or just the town?

So we doing the town and the academy or just the town? Both. I figure if we leave the hotel by 9:30 we should be in Annapolis around 10:00. Park cars and do tour of Academy at 10:30 until 11:45. Then everyone can do lunch and/or explore until 3:00 when we have high tea at Reynolds Tavern. We can even push that back to 3:30 or 4:00 if necessary but no later (high tea is only served until 5:00). I definitely want to peruse the shops and such. Tracy and I went there years ago during one of my visits and there was lots to see! And if people want to stay in Annapolis into the evening, there is nothing solid on the schedule. We set aside all day for Annapolis. I got a return e-mail from the Naval Academy. We do qualify a private group tour but need to ensure we have 16 or more, so everyone has to be on board. Otherwise, those who want to do the tour can do the public tour at their leisure. I imagine the public one is the same thing as the group one.

Funny, but when I saw that we were going to Annapolis on the schedule I just assumed we were going to the Naval Academy as opposed to just the town. Yes definitely would like to see the Academy.

I guess we just didn't want to assume! Although it wasn't a scheduled event, this is definitely something that seems to be of interest to most and we can certainly include it into the schedule. I booked our private tour and hope that everyone is on board. It is $10.50 for adults; $9.50 for Seniors(62+). I will have to inquire if all tickets need to be purchased ahead of time as there is no indication of having to do so. I would really like to go to that place Phizz said she had the awesome crab!

You might need to email those who haven't said yes.
