1. Walked about 14 million steps with Pamski and her Fitbit.
2. Ate the best food EVER! Like, everywhere, every meal. Afternoon Tea at the Chateau Frontenac was particularly lovely; thanks to Tracy for 'splaining to them that their losing our reservation did not mean that we weren't having Tea.
3. Met the Good Frogs, at last!
4. Talked with ghosts at the Citadelle. Well, sort of. They were actors playing ghosts on the Nightfall Tour. At the end the guy playing a British soldier from the 1820s apologized for all the mean things he had said about the French, Irish, and Americans while in character. Still not sure if he was gently mocking the Canadian reputation for excessive apologizing or really just was the most Canadian guy ever.
5. Went for a boat ride on the St. Lawrence River
6. Went for a bus ride and then a short hike at Montmorency Falls.
5. Learned the history of the city with our marvelous guide Marie on a walking tour of Old Town.
6. Escaped a leather shop with my dignity and my bank account intact. It was a gorgeous black lambskin coat, but for $1200, I could buy a car. And I already have a long black leather coat. Which cost me $5.
7. Basked in 85 degrees F weather. (It was in the 40s at home, which in addition to being 2000 miles west is also 350 miles south.....)
8. Bought a new LBD for choir performances. It was more than I would usually pay, but after the sticker shock in the leather store it practically felt like they gave it to me.
9. Heard the other side's version of the French and Indian War. It was somewhat...different...than what I learned in grade school. Don't really remember why I always thought The Plains of Abraham was located outside of Montreal.
10. Had the right answer when the Parks Canada guide asked us why the British bigwigs at the old fort had French cooks back in the day. As if that was hard to guess!
