(I have also advertised these over on Dreamwidth) 1. Ebb Tide by Richard Woodman, the last in the Drinkwater series. This was bought second-hand and has some yellowing to the pages, and creasing to the spine. It is in a perfectly readable condition and obviously has been well-read. 2. The Blighted Cliffs by Edwin Thomas, was bought second-hand. There is some pencil marking on the very first page, but otherwise it is as-new. 3. The Hornblower TV episodes Mutiny and Retribution - individual DVDs (Region 2) that make up the complete story of his time aboard Renown under Captain Sawyer. These are duplicated merely because I later bought the Hornblower boxed set. I would prefer these to go together if possible because each disc is only half the story. Comment here so other people know what's gone and PM me your sail mail address so I know where to send your items. There may be other duplicates in future; I haven't yet gone through all my Alexander Kent books, some of which are still in the attic... The DVDs have been claimed by someone on Dreamwidth. SF

Further to the above, I have some more books on offer free to a good home/good homes.
1. Master and Commander. The first in the series by Patrick O'Brian, this was a Christmas present (an extra, thankfully) a few years ago. It's new, never been read, and is from the photo-cover series with the coloured spines, in the slightly smaller, traditional paperback size.
2. Ramage and the Freebooters. From a little-known series by the undeservedly little-known Dudley Pope, this has some creasing to the spine but is in otherwise good condition. Dudley Pope is (was?) a contemporary of Patrick O'Brian's, and was a protege of C.S Forester. Unlike modern some modern authors writing of the Age of Sail, he deserves a place on your shelves - and deserves to be much better known. Claimed!
3. Ramage's Challenge Another in the Ramage series by Dudley Pope, this is an older imprint than the previous, also with some creasing to the spine. There is some slight yellowing to the pages (it's a 1980's edition, after all) but is otherwise also in good condition. Claimed!
4. Sharpe's Prey. Bought new, this is the edition from the change-over between covers, and features a David Scutt picture with copper-coloured text. It's the paperback edition, used but 'as new' - though I have taped the corners of the cover to keep them from getting bent (a personal peeve of mine when it comes to my paperbacks).
5. Billy Ruffian by David Cordingley. This is a non-fiction book in the paperback edition, in excellent condition with a very little creasing to the top front corner (tape it and it'll be unnoticeable, I think). The plates and text are reproduced exactly as in the hard-back edition (plates in their own sections on shiny paper). The book is the story of the 74-gun ship HMS Bellerophon, one of the ships at Trafalgar, and the ship to whose captain Napoleon surrendered in 1815 after Waterloo.
If anyone wants any of these, or wants more information, please comment to this thread. If you want me to send you one, or more, PM me your RL name and address to I know where to send it - and let me know if you'd rather I waited until after Christmas to post it out to you.
I still have Ebb Tide and The Blighted Cliffs available; see the post above for more information on either of these.

oh dear, I already own all of them But Ebb Tide, but don't want to read it without having read the other ones in the series first. I love my Blighted Cliff series and wish the dang author would keep writing about this character. >:-( Biki
