Joining in finall because, despite all the pressure in the job and job-hunt front, I did a radical change in August and have lost at least 6 or 7 kilo since. (Sorry, I've got no idea about the pounds - 15 lb?!) Just like polleepal, I write down everything I eat and follow the old weight watchers programm of 2009 losely. I have been quite lazy lately but it's still good to see achievements. I do grant myself with a cheat meal every once in a while or lots of cheese (not fat reduced!), but the body needs it. Having cut off chocolate, sugar and most of my fat consumptions, seems to be a good thing. And, if I grant myself something (a muesli bar or something similar), I'll include it in my daily routine. But even more important: Once a week, I go hiking with a friend in the neighbourhood of our home town. We've discovered so many beauties since we started our programme. Fortunately, she started with the idea of being more active and aware of what she would eat, I joined her. And it's a lot easier if you have a partner in your self-discipline programme. So, three cheers to all of us for all our achievements, big or small!

Congrats on even the teeniest loss or just holding steady to everyone. It's the day-by-day that counts. And as Churchill once said 'never give up.'

Diane

Thanks Ship, it's a start. And a fine one indeed. This time, though, I am sure I'll not give up half-way once there's no progress for a while. It definitely helps to have someone working on it with you instead of doing everything on your own!

Well, I broke a nail this morning. That's about a loss of .00000000000000000000000001 of an ounce. Woo hoo! Probably lost more from the annoyance factor running through my blood. The good news is, I'm making less errors on the keyboard with a bald finger. That, and it's the middle one, which adds to the fun of showing people.
Seriously, though, I was surprised that I did not gain any weight from two weeks of travelling and restaurant food. Then again, we all had some good walks in St. Augustine. And across the pond in Warwickshire, lots of walking around historical sites. I think I shed more tears at the wedding than pounds (weight-wise that, is... British monetary-wise is a whole 'nother story!).
So.... walking around historical sites is good for you. Walking the duty-free aisles at Heathrow stocked with enticing British confectionary....not so good. But, oh so worth it!

Welcome home! We're all dying to hear about The Adventures of Otter and the Enormous Hat, with Bonus Nigel. :-) Okay, I started a travelogue. Where should I post it? In the Off Topic, since my writing is a bit off.

Thank you! I didn't lose, but I didn't gain, and that's a gain in itself.
This year I resolve to drink enough water. Little steps!

Cody, just like you, the only resolution I made for 2015 is one I am hopefully to keep: to continue as I started in August. Since my last post, I have shrunk another size. I am still way on the plus-size but I have come to the critical point where I didn't lose anything anymore two years ago. Instead, I got frustrated and started to "grow" again. This time, I am still determined to continue depite all odds.
So here's to a successful 2015 for all of us! Cheers!

Where did 2014 go? I again am yo-yoing but am back on the wagon full speed ahead. Starting with Atkins again. I will admit that I am a carb-a-holic but it worked for me last year. I can't afford Weight Watchers anyway and this is something that is free and I am familiar with. My Fitness Pal is an excellent tool. I track all my food and exercise on there. Their food database is massive so it makes it easy to track. Plus, once you enter a food item, it stays on your "list" for easy refernce. I also weigh myself each week and track that as well. My goals for 2015 are to stay on track, add at least one more workout to the 2 that I currently do a week and to make mini-goals to reach so that the final goal feels attainable. Let's make 2015 OUR year, shall we ladies?!
