Don't miss New Tricks! Denis Lawson is in his second season playing Steve McAndrew, and while he plays a slightly-wild Scot he's not nearly as crazy working for the Met as he was running a ship.  For a while now, they have also been expanding the character Robert Strickland, played by Anthony Calf, who you may remember as the kind, interesting and informative Colonel Fitzwilliam in the 1995 mini-series Pride and Prejudice. |

Just recently saw him in an episode of ROBINHOOD (BBC Miniseries).

I must admit that I wasn't that much into New Tricks until Denis Lawson joined the cast (my mum loved it from the beginning, but I thought it was okay but not must see viewing).
Took a look coz Captain Foster was on board, and now I'm kinda hooked. And actually, Anthony Calf's character is my other fave on the show. That episode where his old ex-military pals were getting bumped off and he got a chance to be absolutely Bada$$. That's my fave ep. 'Twas awesome.
Also recently rewatched the movie Local Hero. A young and feisty Denis Lawson with bonus cute and klutzy young Peter Capaldi. *sigh*
And add to that the awesome music of Mark Knopfler!
Go. Watch. Now! You won't regret it.
