WOW! I like this one:
EIGHTEENTH CENTURY MEN’S BREECHES 5th, 6th & 7th November A practical look at the cut and construction of men’s breeches focusing on the evolution of shapes. To test the all-important fit of the breeches for riding horses there will be a saddle in the workroom. Surviving examples of breeches from the School Collections will be available for close examination. Students will draft patterns and make a toile and stitching sampler.
On the last day, students will focus on the construction of British Naval Uneeforms. To test the all-important fit of the breeches for future Horatio Hornblower movies, there will be ex-cast members in the workroom. Surviving examples of breeches from the “Mutiny” and “Retribution” films will be available for really close examination. Students will go daft and make a hole in the stitching sampler.
Okay, so the last paragraph was mine.
But still!

I'm after making/learning to make Regency-era stays. (I have Plans for a Regency wardrobe once I've got the basic underpinnings, of which stays are a vital part!)

Me, too, Sharpie! If we weren't half a planet away from each other, we could give each other a hand.

The Atlantic Ocean is so inconveniently placed, isn't it!

Regency-style gowns really do look better with proper stays.

Alternatively, time for a trip to Williamsburg!! Yours Aye, Diane There's a wonderful museum there that has quite a collection of Colonial clothing ... had I been by myself that day, I would have spent hours there! ~Phizz
