I have been absent from here for so long! I miss you all terribly! Have had tons of health problems all year long! However, I decided to come on here to see what was going on. Girls, I LIVE IN BALTIMORE! This is my hometown! Please come here in 2015. It is probably the only way I will ever see any of you again. We have the U.S.S. Constellation here, a great science museum, the National Aquarium, great port neighborhoods to explore, Edgar Allen Poe house and burial site, I could go on and on! Please come here in 2015!!

As for our US pals pinching the word 'Moot', feel free! We pinched it from Tolkein, after all! I'm bowled over by the offers of help with the repatriation of The One Chair! That's terribly kind of you folks, and I really didn't expect anyone else to chip in. I suppose I shouldn't have been too surprised, given that the folks here are the nicest community on the Net! Is there any way we can get a costing, and I'll make sure whoever sends the chair is not out-of-pocket after your contributions. You people really are awesome. xxxxxxx

Oh, no, dear shipmate, you'll get over here eventually. I'm counting on taking you through the Cosmosphere one day. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next week, but one day.

Yeah, I should never say 'Never', Cody!

Hi PTP
The chair had your address printed on a piece of paper in one of the bag pockets. Is it still the correct address? The chair is at my mother's house so I can't look at the paper now to message you and confirm the address.
I want to make sure it's accurate when I go and get an estimate on the shipping. Have you moved since the chair traveled aboard?
How far is your town from London?

Please thank Mama SueB for being a Chair-Bearer and giving it sanctuary! I think Paul would be very gratified to know how his gift is cherished.

PTP The chair is at my Mom's house for its own safety. I don't have enough closet space to close it off. If I leave it out in the open in my house my 2 lovely rabbits would start nibbling on the case. And it they ever actually got in the case and to the WOODEN chair, it would quickly turn into a pile of toothpicks. My darling little girls! (can't seem to get a big pic like yours PTP - not doing something right. But click on pic to make bigger.) The black and white girl is Trixie and the solid black girl is Cindy. They are sisters. Ignore the date on the second pic. Wrong! Got the girls in 2012 or 2013. Attachments:

Oh aren't they gorgeous!!! Trixie is just like the little house rabbit we had when I was a teenager. He was so sweet. He had a hutch in the utility room, but spent most of his time sitting by the hearth or in my mother's lap! I'd love to have a bunny again, but our house is too small to have a hutch inside. I do know what you mean about the nibbling, though. Nothing was safe with Bugs around! Thanks for posting the photos. Lovely to see these two happy bunnies!

These are all great ideas to make us leaner and - not meaner...cleaner?
Suite: I think a suite is a great idea. Some of my favorite memories are just hanging in rooms, joking, listening to music at the end of a great day of seeing and learning. The most fun is to be with a bunch of like-minded people.
Movies: I would love to watch some movies in some fashion, because no one else I know has as much fun with it as we do. But we don't have to watch them all.
Registration: Agreed that it could go away or be reduced. But we could have a figure that covers tours or admissions. I love us as a group in these places, and we often get special treatment when we present as a group to museums or sites. It's mainly the hotel that's interested in soaking a group. Remember at the San Diego maritime museum how all the guides were excited and some came in especially because we were a Hornblower group? I think we still want to keep this identity in some useful, but not expensive way.
Personally, 2015 is off the table for me because we are planning a Mediterranean junket, but Baltimore sounds great. The U.S.S. Constellation would be super. And follow it with Boston in 2018.
I guess we could make a One Cushion for all the plush Horatians.

Just wanted you to know I'll be posting some shipping info on the chair soon. I have the info but I also want to post the HH convention items at the same time so folks can take a look at them and let me know what's theirs. I almost came close to finishing the pics and descriptions last week but then a bunch of things came up and I haven't been able to finish. I'm hoping to have everything up by Thanksgiving at the latest. So when you're doing your internet shopping on Black Friday thru Cyber Monday, take a peek.
Even with everything posted, I'm tempted not to ship anything until after the Xmas holidays. Going to the post office in December is something I prefer not to do! Though I know I'll have a least 2 presents to ship myself. But with so much stuff in the mail, there's likely a better chance that things will get lost.

I think waiting until January is a good idea, not only for both of us, but also so it won't get lost in the rush of all the stuff crossing the Pond at this time of year! Besides, I'd rather get the money to you before you send it off, so you'll have it up-front to pay the passage! Thanks so much for dealing with all this. Happy Thanksgiving! xxx

Soooooo ..... now that the holidays are over and people are settling back into their normal routines .....
Do we want to pick up the conversation about HH2015?
Tracy and I are still willing to host in Baltimore. Does anyone else want to throw their official hat into the ring?
