Annapolis is about 30 to 40 mins. from Baltimore (depending upon traffic).
We can open the discussion regarding the possibility of taking a day trip to Annapolis.
We would have to find out how many attendees plan to drive to Baltimore vs. flying or taking the train. I will be driving, so I'm happy to chauffer a group to Annapolis if there is interest.

I'd be open to rent a car if there was enough interest.

I'll be flying into Baltimore (got a great price already) and renting a car after the con. Plan to stay a few days in Annapolis.

Sounds as if Annapolis will definitely be on the agenda!
If you haven't done the survey, please do so. It will give us a better handle on what the major interests are for those planning to attend. Some activities have group rates that are definitely money savers so if we can get those discounts, the less all of us have to spend!
Going to also get my AAA trip pack and my visitor guides as well.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to drive. I have a small car but can take a couple of people on a day trip to Annapolis. I'd love to go.

I don't see why not calling it HH 2015.

Apologies to Bucky and Saucehead for being late on this. I just found the survey and responded.
I love Baltimore! So does Nigel. Yet, in all our travels there, we never had the time to tour Ft. McHenry, so it would be great to finally see it!
And a visit to Annapolis would be soooooo cool!
Do they still operate the water taxis between the inner harbor and Fells Point? I remember so many lovely evenings strolling amongst the Federal-style architecture, finding excellent restaurants and enjoying the wonderful walk-in jazz clubs.

Girls, I have not been able to join in here for a while. I do miss you all! I could not believe when I read here that you want to meet up in Baltimore. I definitely want to be there - especially since I live about 25 minutes from the USS Constellation! I would love to go to Annapolis during/after/before the official get together. I am pretty good at maneuvering the streets of Annapolis and could take some folks with me in my car. I could fit at least 4 people. Also, I can offer advice about the city of Baltimore. I know some of you have visited here before, but some have not. Like any big city on the east coast, it has its good and bad points. I will steer you away from the bad points! Stick with me!

Otter, they do still operate the water taxis. It is the best way to get to the harbor from Fell's Point and vice versa. Parking is miserable in both places. I always spring for the water taxi fare. It's so much easier than looking for a parking space!

Here is the link to the water taxi scheduled stops: Water Taxi
We are looking at hotels in the Inner Harbor so the stops would be very convenient for the ones we have on the short list.

I'm fine with calling it HH2015 Baltimore!
Thanks Patty for your offering to assist with the logistics in and around Baltimore.
Also, a gentle reminder of those who are considering attending the HH2015 in Baltimore in September, please take the brief survey so we can get an idea of who will be attending.
If you have trouble with the survey, please let me know.
Finally, for those who are attending, can you please send me a private message w/ your e-mail addresses? Thanks!
Yours most humbly, Saucehead

Uh oh. I do not know how to send someone a private message! I was going to put my home email address on here so that anyone with questions could ask me. I do not go on the websites very much. Mostly I read my emails and go on Facebook. Please tell me how to send a private message. Thanks!

Patty, click on the name of the person to whom you want to send a PM. This will open a new page. On the top right side should be a button that says "Send Message". Click on that and it will open a page where you can send the PM. It looks like making a regular post. Please do NOT post your home address publicly! This board is not private.

Girls, I looked up sports game schedules for my hometown of Baltimore for the dates of our get together.Luckily our baseball team, the Orioles, have away games until Monday, the 28th. I think that game is in the evening. LOTS of traffic and confusion on game days/evenings down near our harbor because the stadiums are close by. Our football team, the Ravens, do not have their dates posted yet for the 2015 season. They will probably be playing on the 27th but don't yet if it is a home game. I will keep you posted of these games and any other happenings down near our harbor that make affect our getting around, etc.
