That's too bad, in a way--I would have loved to go to a ballgame at Camden Yards.

What would I do if the Bills were playing the Ravens that weekend ....... I could see Saucy in her purple and me in my blue and white cheering our teams on!
We're in full on research mode right now and had a tete-a-tete on Sunday, so hopefully we'll have some solid info for everyone soon. We may do a second survey about the movies.
I am just assuming that if it starts on Thursday, that most will be arriving on Wednesday, especially the West coasters who are flying against the time zones.

So the dates are pretty solid? I have talked to Cabingirl and I will start looking for airfare. I may actually fly to Pittsburgh and drive down with them depending on the cost.

Which is why I bought it 8 months early. I usually wait til about 3 months before to but a ticket, but I was just looking to see what the going price was and decided it probably wasn't going to get better than that. ~Phizz

It's great to see that plans for the next HH gathering are well on the way. Even if in a smaller scale.
I whish I could say 'I'll be there for sure' but I still don't know if I'll be able to take some time off in September. Or where I'll be workwise come end of the year. Life is still somewhat uncertain. Sigh.

I'm in the same boat, Sundowner! It's hard for me to take time during a school semester, but ooh, Baltimore... that one I might be able to justify. Maybe.

I also wish I could come but little AF will object strongly to Mummy disappearing - plus it is right at start of first semester so equal problems in getting holiday.

That's too bad, in a way--I would have loved to go to a ballgame at Camden Yards. Camden Yards is great. Some years ago I was at a conference in DC and Spidur and uHf (plus the M'man) met me in Baltimore for a game. It was the Mets vs. the Orioles, but we managed to work in quite a bit of trash-talk regarding our favorite teams. And speaking of such, Bucky, I know you probably won't want to sit with me while I wear this, but please try to restrain yourself from punching me in the face.

Yeah, I was a little bemused about the call and then outcome of that play .... didn't get to see it until the next morning as I was battling a vicious stomach virus that weekend and only watched about 1/2 an hour of it right up to halftime before going to bed. Interestingly enough, Gronk went to the same high school I did - albeit a few years * cough* after I did. The dates are pretty solid IMO. Research is ongoing and also tallying the survey results for the most voted on activites regarding group rates. However to get the group rate, the entire group has to remit their tickets at the same time, which may throw a wrench into the voluntary activities plan. Some savings are a buck or two to as much as $8 off per person. So bear with us while we work out the details. Our goal is to keep the registration fee as low as possible.

I just checked flights and I can probably get something under $400 if I book soon. So let me double check with you, the convention starts Thursday Sept. 24 and lasts through Monday Sept. 28, meaning there are activities from Thursday through Monday (including Monday)?
I want to make absolutely sure before I book.

Girls, I have been sampling some of the restaurants in and around the areas we will be visiting here in Baltimore in September. I am coming up with some interesting places! I've been trying to find "nautical" joints and there are plenty in Baltimore! I just went to a spot called Ryleigh's in south Baltimore, specializing in oysters and crabs. Casual place with plenty of atmosphere. I'll keep sampling (hard job, but someone has to drink all those beers, er, I mean, sample the entrees!) and report back!

Is anyone planning on staying Monday to do additional stuff? I am contemplating it but wouldn't want to be around by myself.
