As many of you may know - or may not know, as the case may be! - I run a text-based play-by-post roleplay game, set in 1809, called Show the Colours. We're looking for new members who enjoy writing, enjoy history and would like to write with others. Show the Colours is set during 1809, at the beginning of the Peninsular War. We have two main roleplay areas: On land with the Army and at sea with the Navy, represented by a 32-gun frigate, HMS Terpsichore. Most of our characters are originals, but we're open to canon characters from any or all of the major AoS canon series. We're currently looking for: Two Navy Lieutenants, a Master, a Royal Marine Sergeant as well as sailors, boys, midshipmen and other sorts of people to be found at sea. On land, we're open to Army officers for the 2nd Foot Guards and 3rd Foot, as well as NCOs and soldiers for those regiments and the 60th Rifles. Let me reassure you: We're not looking for people who know ever tiny nuance of the period. We're looking for folks who enjoy writing, have a bit of knowledge, but who mostly want to have fun writing in the period with other people, creating stories together. Come and take a look at Show the ColoursSF

Double post to say that we're looking for a First Lieutenant for HMS Terpsichore... In-game, our First Lieutenant was Bush, from the Hornblower series, so if you've ever fancied your hand at writing Bush, please come and take a look.
We're also looking for a Third Lieutenant. You're welcome to bring either a canon or original character to fill this position, as the previous character in this slot was an original character.
There are plenty of other positions open, from warrant and petty officers, to sailors and Marines, right down to the ship's boys. We're a friendly crew and there are plenty of characters to start writing with right away.
See you there!
