If folks don't get "East Coast-ed" out with the upcoming Baltimore con, I thought that I'd put it out there that our Regency Society of Virginia group is going to be hosting our second annual Trafalgar Ball on October 24, 2015 in Petersburg, Virginia. You won't need to know the dances (they will all be called) and you don't need to be in period attire (although it is encouraged!). If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to dance with Archie Kennedy/Mr. Darcy/*Insert Regency Heartthrob Here* (Heck, if you've ever imagined dancing with a tone deaf Horatio!), this is a great opportunity. In fact, you have a pretty good chance to dance with a former captain of the USS Constitution--seriously! We've got an "Old Ironsides" captain in our group and he's a great dancer! And, of course, you will already have Horatian pals Jules, Spidur, Derf, and yours truly there. Plus, 99.5% of the attendees are People Who Don't Say "What?!?"! Heck, a good 90% can even pronounce "Ioan Gruffudd" correctly! The tickets will probably come in around $50/ticket and will include a full evening of live music, dancing, and lots of delicious food in an elegant setting. We'd love to have you in the Old Dominion if you'll favor us with your presence!

I have just one minor quibble: The Atlantic Ocean happens to be in the way. Hope you all have fun, though! SF

SF That's what I'm always saying about some of the stuff that Hampshire Regency Dancers put on. (Grand balls at the Royal Pavillion? Regency house party in a real Regency era estate...? Curse that blasted Pond!)

Wish I could join you, but I already have a prior commitment for that weekend.

Now there's a concept!
