This shows the little Indy at the 2007 HH auction mentioned earlier. It was most memorable being there with Sharpie, mmt (and all the HH-stuff).

Hi all I`m new here and appologise now for opening a thread that has been inactive for some time. There is a valid reason however. I have recently acquired, for my sins, a very sorry looking 25 foot model of the Indy. Whilst searching the internet I turned up this page and thought that possibly some one on this forum may have extra info about the boat. I have always had a passion for ships of this period, I was set to join the navy as a child, until I realised they no longer had 3 masted sailing ships So finally at the age of 53 I have my very own Blandford class 20 gun frigate! My intention is to restore her to her former glory. As a marine engineer, the work should be within my abilities, if not my budget! I intend to use her as a river boat, with a very cosy (read that as cramped) below deck cabin and a small diesel for propulsion. Obviously I do not want to do anything to alter the external appearance above the water line. As you can see from the pic, she is in a sorry state. She sat in a Devon field for upwards of 10 years. I have the foremast along with ratlines, fighting tops and trees. The mainmast up to just above the fighting top, mizzen complete it seems and various details..anchors, steps, etc etc. The bowsprit is a rotten mess. I also have the rampant lion figure head which is just awesome . She is missing the wheel, all the cannon and sundry other bits too much to list. Any info or help is welcome. I would love to recover at least 1 of the cannon and trucks, or even get to see/handle one. Perhaps somebody here went to the prop auction and has one? Even a barrel to take a latex mold from and a truck to measure. I don`t know if the wheel was auctioned off seperately or is just lost in the mist of time. If anyone has anything I can see, photograph, measure, etc it will be really appreciated. Once again sorry for butting in like this..here is a pic..I have lots more if people are interested.

Yes, I can't help you with parts, unfortunately, but I'd love to hear all about your new acquisition! How fun would that be to "sail" her down the river!

Hi pithelmet! The only place I know of for definite who got one of the actual models from the series was a museum up in Eyemouth in Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders. They got the model of Renown but I couldn't say whether the scale was the same as yours (I think smaller). We mostly came away with ephemera - scripts, photos and the like - rather than actual props. Sorry I can't be any more help than that. SF

Thanks for all the comments..its a very big jigsaw in the front room at the moment. All the small detail..ladders, pins, rails. belfry and a wooden bell!! have been salvaged from the mess in the bottom of the boat. There are a few real unknowns also. If any one has pics other than those in Hornblower`s ships I would love to see them. On the subject of pics, what is the best way to show them here? I have lots to show but image size is very limited it seems.
