Perhaps I am being totally distracted by the number of bells and whistles available on this forum but is there some super-secret (or ridiculously obvious) way to get a listing of new threads without clicking "Recent threads" at the bottom of the page (which lists everything rather than just unread threads) or "Participated" at the upper right (which just lists threads I've posted in)? I'm interested in accessing all unread threads without having the "excess" of stuff that I've marked "read" or missing out on new threads that I just haven't seen yet (and, thus, haven't had a chance to post in). I can certainly carry on as I have been but if someone can point me in the direction of a link here to get the same function as the "Unread topics" on the old board, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for asking, I was wondering about that as well but procrastinated on and on. I thought it too stupid a question to ask (at least in the earliest stages when there were only very few posts). Now I almost feel relieved that I'm not the only one relying on that feature.

Not that I'm awsare of, sorry. I never used the forum that way, so it's not a feature I looked for.

I'm sure I'll get used to it being unavailable but for my usage, it was very convenient. I'll try a combination of "participated" and "recent threads". However, to see all unread headlines with only clicking once and deciding what to read first was great, esp. with a slow computer/connection. BUT: The only thing constant is change, so I'm surely getting adjusted to the change sooner or later. <nodnod>

Just look for the topics that say new on the desk top version. The app version, which I have on my iPhone has a header that says "unread" threads.

Cool, LadyJamers, that helps indeed!
Stacy, if you scroll to "forum statistics" and click on "recent threads", they'll show off a small blue icon "new" if unread which vanishes after you've read the post. That's quite what I was looking for. So I don't need to hop between the forums but can read it from one place.
YAY! Thanks!!!

Yes, NS, that's the function I've been using and I was hoping to pare down the "non-new" threads a little more than that but, ah well. It serves the purpose and there are worse things than seeing excess posts. Just wanted to find out if the other method was available! Thanks everyone!

Then you were a lot smarter than I was until this thread. I hopped into each subforum individually and it took too much time. Sometimes I can be almost blind in situations like this one. <blush> Blame it on ... well, who- or whatever you please.
