Has anyone read a guy named James Nelson? (I know, the name!) I hear he writes about the American Navy of the time. The French Prize received a very good review in the Wall Street Journal. I am wondering if I should give it a shot. In researching it a bit, I found a criticism that the language is not period. this would be tolerable for me, but the reviewer said he has seamen answering the captain's orders with 'okay' which seems off, even for American sailors. Any reviews or thoughts?
