I actually had a Legolas crush when I was 11. I also have a Fred and George Weasley crush. Yeah, duh, and Lieutenant Pullings! He's 'tubular' and 'As honest as the rising sun.'

I don't think I had any literary crushes when I was a kid... I read a lot of horse books, and then plunged right into reading history. Maybe you could say I had a crush on Tutankhamen, Leonardo da Vinci, or Petrarch. I did read Jane Eyre almost obsessively, but definitely did not crush on any of the men. Rochester is too mercurial for my taste, and St. John Rivers too self-absorbed and severe to be any fun.
Nowadays, I lurve me an earnest second banana. Sam Gamgee,Faramir, Lieutenant Pullings, Bracegirdle, Colonel Fitzwilliam, those guys. You all can have the leading men, but I'll happily bring up the rear arm-in-arm with the sidekicks.

Turin Turambar from the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. More than a crush, he was an enduring love of mine. I thought about him for literally years (I was a strange kid, ok.) Lydia
