Yeah Saucy's wedding is on the Jersey Shore. We are doing the bachelorette weekend in Delaware so I won't get an opportunity to scope out any travel issues.
I may be better off doing the con and then flying back to Orlando on Monday and then fly back up to Atlantic City on Thursday morning, rent a car and head down to Avalon NJ.
SW flies to Erie? Cool. Will have to check that out.
I am all for a no-to-low goodie bags kind of gathering. I think it's all about the company, location and sights (and cocktails of course).

That sounds great, Mags!
And, yeah, what Bucky said: it's the company!

UnCon fine with me, I just love spending time with all of you.
Right now it looks good for me as far as the timing.

I am for the UnCon. The best part is spending time with all of you. I loved that LCR game so much that I got it for our family outing at the Jersey Shore this summer. My nephew got us a house for the week at Seaside Heights.
As for me going to the UnCon this year, that is most likely a no go. Mom and I are getting a new kitchen and there won't be the money. Do a toast for me. Bucky, that card game will have to wait.

In addition to the new kitchen, just laid out $3,000 for a pair of new hearing aids. Now, I really have no money for the convention and my have pain in the ear. Note to self, turn them off when in McDonald's. Boy, is it noisy here.

Okay, this may be kind of nuts, but...what do you guys think of this? www.lakeviewerie.com/It's not walking distance to the festival, but not too far, either. It might be kind of fun. Remember it will be early September, so still nice weather. I'm still evaluating hotels. Two of them aren't completed yet, so...

I've been meaning to comment about the suggested option. I think it looks great. Something a bit different from other years, I'd be up for it. The place reminds me of where we stayed in PEI after Halifax.

Here's my thinking: I could rent one of the suites, or even one of the cabins, and that could be our headquarters for nightly gatherings, and it looks like there are places to lie around and just relax during the day. There isn't a whole lot to do in Erie, but relaxing has its attractions. It looks like all of the waterfront hotels have indoor pools, and they're much closer (but not walking distance, I don't think, but there might be a ferry or something) to Presque Isle State Park, where there is a beach. In early September I think it should still be swimming weather. I'll have to find out if the beach closes after Labor Day, though. There's the Parade of Sail on Thursday afternoon, and we can get passes to go aboard the ships on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I can arrange for an optional day sail for Friday or Saturday. I think Saturday night we'll have movies and pizza. So let me know if you would like to relax lakeside or be closer to stuff. That being said, Miss Capital just told me she was in Erie visiting the medical school and went here. That might be a fun trip.
