I think I'm in love!
When Trudeau was asked why 50% of his cabinet were women, he replied, "Because it's 2015."
Wish our politicians were that evolved!

Thanks, Phizz and Liz. We'll have to see how things go in the next few years but it's a good start.
I'm betting this scenario hasn't happened before; PM Justin Trudeau is to meet with the Queen later this month in London. As a youngster in the 70s Justin accompanied his father, Pierre, who was our Prime Minister at the time, at a meeting with Her Majesty.

Congratulations, Canada, on your new Prime Minister who, based on appearances alone, is DEFINITELY worthy of his own thread in our Bilge! Whew!!
How's that for remaining non-political?

Ahahahahaa, I should have seen this thread coming. Did any of you print out the paper doll of him, to keep your Downton Abbey crew company on the fridge?

I had lunch today with Derry of Australia, who is on one of her jaunts....she reminded me of a trip several years ago, when she came to Toronto, and the 2 of us took the train to Montreal to meet up with mmt and attend a hockey game......when we arrived in Montreal, it was snowing heavily, as it does in Montreal in January, so there was a huge queue to get a cab......at one point, a man who had finally arrived at the front of the line called back that he was going alone in the cab and was anyone going to Outremont, the neighbourhood he lived in and wanted to share it....I was thinking, "I know that voice", had a better look and sure enough, it was Justin Trudeau......the man certainly has charisma by the boatload.....I can't remember if he got any takers.....it was tempting to take the cab with him and take the Metro from there to our hotel, but neither of us thought fast enough, that and we were a long way back in the queue......
Cheers

About twenty five years ago I got on a crowded plane and noticed a pretty good-looking man who had a whole row of seats to himself. I briefly thought about swanning over and seeing if I could sit and schmooze with him... but chickened out (I'm shy). When we got off the plane, he was met by a gauntlet of media, and I asked my friend who was picking me up who the celebrity was. I had almost put the make on the Governor of Oklahoma.

Two Horatians and a spider.....Derry explaining Cuddles would have been worth the ride alone......

This is kinda political, but I was having dinner with my sister the other night and we decided that given the people currently running to be president of this country, we're gonna vote for Justin Trudeau instead. He's more rational and better looking than any of them Fair deal, Canada: If you let us borrow Justin Trudeau, we'll even keep Justin Bieber.

Have you all seen the movie The Trojan Horse? In it, Canada joins the United States, and then a Canadian becomes President, and that role was played by Paul Gross.
It's very good, but really dark and kind of edgy.
