I have been peeking at the weather in Charleston the last couple of weeks and it looks consistently hot. The temperatures have been in the 80s and they look like they will stay that way, is that pretty consistent for when we'll be there?
I want to make sure I have the right type of clothes.

I am hoping for more Fall temperatures! We don't get that down here in Florida. Would love to see the season change too.
Weather Channel estimates that the projected highs are in the 70's, lows in the 60's.

I would think we are not far enough north to see the season change. Back in '11 when Cabingirl and I drove down to Kentucky we caught the fall colors in Ohio and a little in Pennsylvania. It was really the first time I experienced it. Very nice. I am thinking more along the lines of how many shorts/capris do I pack. Will I need sandals? That sort of thing. I bet you can't tell I am excited.

I could go for the mid 70's. Not too hot, not too cold! Estelle, I think, said 80's. So I am going to check closer to the last week in September to see the extended forecast. I am determined NOT to overpack this time, but since I am driving I have a little more leeway. I always cringe when I put my suitcase up on the scale at the airport as I am always sure that I am over that 50 lb. limit.

Amazingly enough I have managed to put everything I need for the con in my carry-on. I think I may be able to manage it again this year.

Brave soul! I tried that once and it was ok until I realized that I had more stuff to bring back! My clothes were a lot less compacted going up than back.
Usually pack extra outfits, just in case. And I like to bring a hair dryer because inevitably, the hotel hair dryer is attached to the wall IN the bathroom, so it makes getting ready a pain in the @ss. I plan on bringing an extension cord with extra plug ins -- you can never have enough!

Although the extra plugs certainly come in handy these days with all the technology one carries.

Hehe! I have it down to a science. Although the extra plugs certainly come in handy these days with all the technology one carries. I am a third generation over-packer. Exactly! Last summer, me, my sister, niece and nephew were all jockeying for the outlets! It was a battle because we all had cell phones and I had a Nook.

The projected temperatures for the first week of October range from 68 to 78 degrees. I think the weather will be pleasant, and I'm planning on bringing capris. I think you could wear sandals, as well, Gaby. Estelle

That would be ideal. I am hoping for that kind of weather. It may be a little cooler while we're on the water, but we can handle it! Maybe even packing shorts, but am not going to push it until I can check the weather right beforehand!

Sounds like I should bring capris and pants mostly but I think I'll throw in a pair of shorts or two just in case.
Very excited. Squee!!

I pack super-light. I'm planning on packing everything into a 25-liter backpack, including Horatio Bear. I was hoping to get everything in my 19L backpack, but I think that's unrealistic. If I left the bear behind, maybe, but I'm not leaving the bear behind. ;-)
For the record: one dress, one knee-length shorts, one skort. Mesh Merrills and flip-flops. BATHING SUIT oh yes.
The hotel has a laundry! No need to bring extras!

I am just amazed at how light people can pack as I just can't do it! * polite golf claps* One of our associates and his wife travelled around the world for a year and they both had one backpack a piece for the entire trip. Wow. No shirts huh? Well I can see what kind convention this is going to be .....
