For the record: one dress, one knee-length shorts, one skort. Mesh Merrills and flip-flops. BATHING SUIT oh yes. Unless, of course, you throw in a shirt or two. You DON'T know how to light pack. SMH. NO UNDERWEAR EITHER

My husband is a fan of disposable underwear for trips. When my oldest son Patrick was a high school sophomore, he went on a weeklong spring break trip to France.with some classmates and his French teacher who'd organized the trip. The kids, my son included, showed up at the airport with big suitcases, while the teacher came clad in jeans and carrying a small backpack.

I've gone thru cycles with my packing. I use to bring everything then I managed to get it down considerably. But I seem to be moving back to slightly over packing. It's so annoying when you realize there's something you need and you don't have it. Yes you can always go to a store but wasting the time and money is annoying.
That's the good thing about driving, you have more flexibility. But since I have to take all the HH stuff back with me this year I have to leave room for it to fit in my car. When I drove up to the Kentucky con Phyllis got there before me. She mentioned there were no closets, just pegs on the walls for clothes. So I threw a garment rack that I had into the car. Instant closet!
Temps around 68? That's cold for a South Florida girl! We finally dropped out of the 90's this week. Hanging around 85.
Looking forward to getting away and seeing everyone.

Disposable underwear? LOL, all I can imagine is edible underwear. Not the same. I'd rather have too much than too little. Sometimes my suitcase is just bulging! High 60's/low 70's will be a welcome change for me -- yeah, Florida has been non-stop 90's for the majority of the year so it'll be a nice change. Am heading to Buffalo next week and the temp range is like that so I cannot wait!

You DON'T know how to light pack. SMH. NO UNDERWEAR EITHER Thrown it all at Mr. Hobbs, have you? You say that like it's a bad thing. Re: disposable underwear: are we talking, like, paper drawers, or old holey underwear that you were going to get rid of anyway, discarding it as you go? I've heard of the latter, but I'm told the people in other countries aren't crazy about Americans leaving their holey drawers behind. Also I've heard stories of hotel maids in poorer countries carefully fishing the holey drawers out of the trash, folding it, and placing it back in the dresser, because clearly a mistake was made.

In my moms case I am talking about the later and she has never had a problem getting the discarded items back.

The disposable undies are made of thin cloth. Anyway, I've never used them.

I just hope they haven't closed the pool for the season...maybe I should call the hotel and check before dragging my bathing suit along.

Just a thought for the packers ... space bags! I love them and they come in different sizes and you don't need a vacuum to get them to compress.
Sure wish I was going to be with you all! So I'll be waiting with bated breath like everyone else for your reports to come in.
