Hi All:
I was wondering--what would have happened to Jack Simpson if Horatio hadn't come along to stand against him? Would the naval service eventually remove him?
Next. Not so much a what if but 'just wondering' question? What was Dr. Heppewhite about? Or for that matter, Captain Keene?
Hope everyone is well.
Yours Aye,
Diane

J.S. would have ruthlessly made his way up the ranks, been given a command, been almost mortally wounded by an avenging son of an enemy, shipped off to Canada, freed the slaves, become a national hero there...
... oh, wait. Wrong J.S. Never mind.

Both were pretty masochistic. Think they changed their ways? Yours Aye, Diane

Well, the fictional JS was not written to withstand the justice meted out by Captain Pellew. The real-life JS lived on to do justice in Canada. I suppose one is left to reconcile the existing historical accounts and records of the real JS to that of the script from the TURN series.

Having not seen Turn, just to throw it out there, thanks to John Graves Simcoe, Upper Canada (present day Ontario) became the first jurisdiction in the British Empire to abolish slavery.....his presence is still felt here, even if it is mostly through place names......
