I would be very much interested in hearing what our resident Austen authority thinks about this.

Yeah. I’ve seen the ad on TV and I have some quibbles with the casting. The actress for Emma doesn’t come across as sympathic. The actor for Mr Knighly looks too young. It’s Monday morning

I liked it a lot! Review at AustenBlog here: austenblog.com/2020/03/01/review-emma-2020-film/The costumes are exquisite and I loved Johnny Flynn as Mr. Knightley. He is actually just about the right age (36). But I just really liked the way he approached the character. It wasn't a "OMG he's so hot" situation. He was just really good. Not the usual presentation of Knightley but it worked for me. Anyway, it's recommended. As I said elsewhere, it's the unity candidate of Austen adaptations: nearly everyone will like it at least a little, I think.

Enjoyed reading your review and now I am looking forward to it. I like Bill Nighy and Miranda Hart but I am not really familiar with the rest of the cast. And my problem, which is really only my fault, is that I have several Austen favorite actor/character pairings to overcome when I watch a new adaptation.
