Hey All!!! I got the below letter from the hotel in Quebec and responded for her to please hold the rooms until September 5 ( 2 weeks prior to going), but we still need definite yes from all. Not sure if we should personally text people who are not coming here or Facebook. Hate to to be a pain, but this is the way it is. Sorry. From: Dorothy Kedves Re: Group in September 2017 Description : Description : cid:571B769B-75A5-4F51-BF0A-32DD8D57829B Bonjour Madame Beck, Hope this email finds you well! I am contacting you this morning regarding a little group reservation that you made back in March for September 19th to 25th 2017, for 12 rooms with 2 beds. Are you still planning to come to Quebec city in September? We have pending reservations for those dates and we are just checking if you are still keeping all 12 rooms. We would also like to know how many people are coming. Have a lovely day! I know there are dual posts going here and on Facebook. So maybe we can get a tentative head count and know if we need all 12 rooms.
So far, I think this is who has said yes or maybe:
Tracy Jamie Gaby Mags Sandra Pam Phizz Suanne Susanna Dave Estelle Michael Lou Lou Minsky Liz Kim Brian
I am missing anyone? So even if we are only 2 to a room, we would need 9 rooms, correct? If more plan on coming, I am sure there are folks that would do 3 to a room if necessary. We would not want to be on the line for the extra rooms that are reserved and not booked.

Booked my flights! I'm arriving Wednesday evening at 5:20PM and hopefully will be joining the festivities shortly after that.

Sorry I'm late checking in. I'm recuperating from a major surgery and only skimmed flights.
Looks like everything from Florida has to fly into Montreal first. Then a smaller plane to Quebec.
I like the train but it does take longer and the times aren't coinciding well with the flight arrivals.
There's a stop at the Montreal Airport to pick up the train. Has anyone figured out which train stop in Quebec is closest to the hotel?

Has anyone figured out which train stop in Quebec is closest to the hotel? You want the main QC stop, which is the last one. The stop before is St Foy, which is in the suburbs. Also, if you take the shuttle bus and train from PE Trudeau airport, you will have to transfer to the QC train at Central Station in Montreal......
Hope the surgery went well.......

A word about making hotel reservations over the phone. Ask for Dorothy, she knows what's going on!

A word about making hotel reservations over the phone. Ask for Dorothy, she knows what's going on! ~Phizz P.S. Brush up on your French😉 I spoke English to them when I made the original reservation. You could say this: Hello, May i speak with Dorothy in reservations? Translation: Bonjour, puis-je parler avec dorothy des réservations? Dorothy knows English and I have had conversations with her on the phone and email. copy and paste that translation into google or your French translator (I downloaded a couple of them) to get the pronunciation of that sentence. 😊

Yes Dorothy knows English, it was the fact that the first two people I talked to were unsure about the Horatians group that I asked for her
It was the fact of the people answering the phone with definite French accents that reminded me that French and English are both spoken in Quebec

Will make our hotel reservation this week. Promise (real life took over!). Also am going to go through the visitor guide I got and see what there is to do.
I took 5 years of French but when you don't use it, you lose it. Anyone planning on getting a translation guide?!
Still working on my flights. Now that the dust has settled at work, it is easier to make those plans now. Yeah!
68 days to go!

I've booked my flight. I get in (hopefully) at 5:05PM on Wed. I haven't looked into a shuttle yet.
If there is no shuttle, maybe I can wait for you, Gaby, since you arrive 15 minutes after me, and
we could share a cab?
Tracy and Jamie, Sandra and I are rooming. I still need to make the reservation for us. Perhaps I shall try my luck tonight.
Cant' wait!

Just made the reservation for Sandra and I. No shuttle from the airport to the hotel.
A flat rate of $35 for a cab. I didn't ask about sharing, but I assume the price is per
ride, not per person.
Anyway, getting excited!
I may look into a cruise on the St. Lawrence for us? Interest?
