Hey, if a senior is 55 or more, I can get it! Love riding tours! Gotta do the lighthouse and maritime museum, forts are so much fun to go to and was a Girl Scout and would love to see Juliet Lowe house. A must see is the www.mercerhouse.com/home.htm - which is the Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil house. The crazy cat lady in me can’t wait to see the Crab Shack and I love seafood. Hey, maybe Brian and I can see how many hand stamps we get again! LOL!!! 😂😂😂😜

I'd love to do one of the hop on-hop off trolley tours, to get an overview. And I'm reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by the pool this summer, so yes, have to see the Mercer House. I'm sure the book will suggest other attractions as I work through it (such as Bonaventure Cemetery). Didn't someone previously mention a ghost tour? That might be fun.

I love doing ghost tours. I would definitely be up for one.
I too would love to do a trolley tour. I did enjoy the two walking tours we did in QC, but even on top of the fantastic sites of each tour, the guides really made those even more enjoyable.
As for the Mercer House, it is $13 and you are only allowed to view 3 rooms and a hallway in the house. I have ready several reviews and it seems that they do not even touch on the subject of the movie or the murder, and frown on those who do ask. Apparently the sister still lives in the house and the tour guides are very careful what they say. I imagine most people go to see this house based on the movie and story, so why not let them weave that into the tour?!

Well, we could hang around outside and stare at it. LOL

Just went over the things to do on Tybee itself. Another must to go to for food is Wet Willies. Clicked on it for the name and saw the food is good and even a bit less money than some of the other restaurants. Reviews all good.
Also, the beach itself, good thing we rented this place, parking $2.00 an hr and hard to find a spot. We won’t need to park because we are about a block away. This looks like a place I, personally, would love to go again and again. Seems to have that nice, yet somewhat tacky beach feel.
The lighthouse, we should drive to, but it looks so cool from the pictures on google search. We could save our money on the Mercer house, if you can’t see much, but there are many tours of the cemetery.
Getting excited for all of this! This looks to be one of those trips we talk about years later.

I would like to see the Mercer House, as I hear the gardens are very beautiful. You are only allowed to take pics of the outside of the house, none of the inside or gardens.
There are two restaurants right on the beach near the house, which is nice. As well as several on the main drag.
The lighthouse is a must.
There are a lot of deals on Groupon for things to do and eat in Savannah. There are historical pub crawls - how fun would that be?!

I’ve just discovered that the 8th Air Force was activated at Savannah in 1942 before locating to England later that year to join the RAF in the war. I am very interested in the air campaign in Europe and I would like to visit the museum which is close by Savannah airport. No worries if this isn’t anyone else’s cup of tea.

Definitely hop on hop off trolley and lighthouse. The Segway pub crawl may be fun and a bit dangerous- being drunk on a Segway? Never been on one. Would like to do one of the plantation style houses. We usually do ghost tours. The fort and maritime museum and of course, the beach.
I am bringing my Fitbit this year and expecting personal highs on it. LOL!

Segways are fun. Never been on one after hoisting a few cocktails though! I think we need to get a penciled in plan of what we want to do. Nothing in stone but just so we're not standing around each morning hemming and hawing on what to do that day. Wednesday and Monday will definitely be travel days to a certain extent. Thursday through Sunday we can plan the activities/sights. If we're going into Savannah, I think we should plan things around there (museums, forts, historic mansions, tours) together. The believe the fort and lighthouse are closer to the rental house on Tybee Island. And of course, the beach is down the street

If it's warm, mornings are for sightseeing, afternoons for the beach!

Here’s a “pencil-ed” plan of the trip - ANY of this can be tweaked or changed:
Wednesday - those who are there can go to the store for breakfast and snack foods
~~~ at night we could do card and movie night or go into Savannah for a ghost tour $10 each or Segway pub crawl from $25 per person ($200 total for 8 people - they do a group of 9 tops) the ghost tour does a group of six tops. ~~~~We can do this Friday or Saturday night if more people want to do this.
Thursday - go to Tybee Island Lighthouse Museum and Fort Pulaski. Should have some beach time this day and go to Crab Shack for dinner
Friday - on the way to Savannah, stop at Bonaventure Cemetery and then go to Fort Jackson. ~~~ Fort Jackson has a deal that if you spend $17 you can go to other museums for three days for the same fee. On this is Savannah History Museum and The Georgia Railroad Museum, which are near each other, but not near Fort Jackson. Though, we can just do Fort Jackson or skip this part and just do hop on/hop off bus and Mercer House.
~~~ now, we could do this and/or the Mercer House
~~~ I thought we could do the hop on hop off trolley on Friday when we get to Savannah. This would allow us to oversee the city and we could hop on and off at some of the Museums.
*****if we just do Bonaventure Cemetery, Mercer House and Hop on/hop off bus, we can have some beach time. (Part of me wants to do that most)
IDEAS for LUNCH or DINNER: City Market - open air market from 1700s with shopping, dining and art in restored warehouse AND Lady and Sons - Paula Deen Restaurant.
Saturday - go to Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum- you can see the Scarborough House and gardens and for $21, you can add on the Davenport House and Andrew Low House. We could do all three or see something we didn’t see on Friday.
~~~ Group Picture at Maritime Museum or we can do it any place and this could be one of many group pictures.
~~~We could also do the Segway or Ghost tour at night, if you like or just movie or card night at the house.
Sunday - BEACH DAY!!! We can spend time at the beach by our house, go down to the pier and pavilion, go shopping, get drunk, and/or go to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
Monday - breakfast together before saying our good byes until next year.
I am good with whatever everyone wants to do.
I think some folks aren't getting in until later on Wednesday? I think on that point we should get everyone's ETA so we know what time range we're looking at with regard to scheduling any tours that night.
There is so much to do that we're going to be hard-pressed to see it all! I also look forward to some game time in the evenings as well.
