Did you take those photos with your phone Jamie? They’re wonderful! . Phew! From reading your post this now, mmt, I gather you came out okay from the tornado that just ripped through Ottawa. Dodging a couple of bullets this past week! Yikes!

Bad weather is following you, Jan. :-p hope all is well! 🤗 hugs

Had a sense of deja vu this evening. Went to my best friend’s daughter’s house for dinner and after we played “Apples to Apples”. Very fun, but not as funny as with you guys.

Yikes! I saw about those tornados. Wild weather for sure. Just glad our friends are safe.
I had an r&r day catching up on stuff, and kept thinking about how much fun we had last week. For certain sure, it was an asset to all be under the same roof with a place to eat and have a common area for games and movies. I am hoping that next year we can find a place to accommodate. It definitely makes things a little easier, and still allows for some privacy too.
Somehow, I ended up with someone's crab dip and decided to not let it go to waste. However, my mouth was on fire. It wasn't until I was moving the container in the fridge that I noticed it said "jalepeno crab dip." Mouth was on fire!!

I actually got the books on tape version of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil to listen to while driving to/from work. I just started it, but look forward to hearing all about Savannah and the places we saw. I miss everyone ......

I miss you guys too!
Finally put all the new magnets on my file cabinet and I think I need to slow down on the “buy every one I like” 😁 We’re hitting critical mass here! 😮

Phizz, I had to do that with the squashed pennies. Some machines offer four different ones and it got out of hand. I pick the one I like best, two if there are two I absolutely must have. Still mad I didn't get the one with the Waving Girl statue on it, though.
I still have one empty drawer left on my filing cabinet so I guess the magnets aren't THAT far out of control...yet!

My collection takes up the side of the fridge, along with some official moot magnets that were made in prior years.
Just finished listening to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Highly recommend borrowing it from your local library. The narrator is great and he really adds something to the different voices. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I believe it is the same person who did the Harry Potter audio books too. Am listening to it again before I have to return it.

I still have some room on the drawer fronts, but it’s a 2 drawer cabinet. I s’pose I could start on the fridge. 😁

Dang! I miss everyone, too! And I miss having a refrigerator that takes magnets. But I can wear one on the side of my head!

Phizz, as of today I've lost your avatar and banner. And Jamers' banner is gone too! My banner was saved on Photobucket so I lost it a while ago but my avatar still lives. I don't remember where it's stored.
You ladies do magnets and squashed pennies; I bring home leather bookmarks from places I visit in the UK. They seem to be a standard design, 1 1/2" x 9" which includes a 'fringe' of 1 1/4" at the bottom. My collection includes The Tower of London (which I see every time I stay at St. Katharine's Marina), The Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garden (visited with Derry), Hastings Fishermen's Museum (I had my photo taken sitting on the steps of Christopher Foyle's (film) house), the American Museum of Natural History (in NYC with Derry), the Whitechapel Bell Foundry (where LizMc and I saw the Queen. It produced the Liberty Bell as well as Big Ben in the Elizabeth Tower), Old Royal Naval College (when I studied at the Greenwich Maritime Institute), Royal Botanic Gardens Kew (what a wonderful place if plants are your thing - I love them, just can't grow them), Whitby (Derry, LizMc and I made a special trip to see the Grand Turk), Liverpool (visited PTP and Ceri in 2008), Commemorating H.M. Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee (London, 2012), and Lincoln where I've visited several times once with Derry, and 4 times for the 44 Squadron RAF reunions. I have lots of others but they're marking places in books I've started reading but not yet finished.
It's much nicer using these bookmarks instead of kleenex.

I have a tendency to use boarding passes as bookmarks, so my trips down memory lane happen when I open a book and one falls out........ (Speaking of the Tower of London and books, I am currently reading The Ravenmaster, written by the Yeoman Warder who is the current Ravenmaster at the Tower of London.....wonderful book.....I've been following him on Twitter for awhile, so he and the ravens seem like old friends.......I highly recommend the book.....)

It now appears that 6 tornados touched down in Ottawa and on the Quebec side of the river on the Friday. I was without power for 25 hours but my sons went until Monday in the dark. The big storm in Ottawa destroyed a transformer station which controls much of the city so it was a scramble to get it back up and running. Aside from the power outage, many homes were destroyed or severely damaged as well as lots of trees.
I will find a copy of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil at the library now that the setting will be familiar.

Omg Jan! Have you ever had this many tornadoes before?
I can see my avatar now, don’t remember when the little bunch of sayings disappeared.
Being a cataloger, I collect bookmarks too! I have a VERY eclectic collection 😁 Whatever appeals to my magpie self.

Stay safe Jan! Mimi has posted some wild videos of the weather up there on FB lately. Is it still cold? Hate to say, we're still in the 90's down here. Come on Fall!
And yes, I wish I would have gotten the audio book or book prior to our trip to Savannah. He mentions a lot of stuff that we saw, which is cool. Now I have a whole appreciation for wanting to see Mercer House! A few friends want to do a girls trip next month to there, so I may have a second chance to check it out. If you can, get the audio book Jan. The narrator adds so much more.
