I usually do Horatians on my iPhone or iPad. I hit the desktop version and saw the banners for me and Phizz with all of your little sayings underneath.
I never watch Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil when it for got out because I thought it was drama with some horror aspects to it. I was wrong. I rented it from Amazon prime soon after coming back and it was actually a nice story. It showed the city very well. Some of the city’s townsfolk were in the movie as themselves.
I am so happy we got to see it - both the city and the movie. Both were sooo worth it! 😁👍🏻🍹

All is back to normal today on both my iPad and my laptop; avatars and banners both. Only yours and Phizz’s, Jamers, were affected. It must have been something screwy on my end.
I listened to the sample reading of the full book on Audible and it sounds good. The second version is only 3 hours long. I had the same impression of the film when it was in theatres as you, Jamers, and it didn’t appeal. If it’s on Netflix I’ll watch it now.

Hi Liz. I had to connect at Pearson to get to Savannah. The Ottawa flight landed at the main terminal and I had to walk half way to Streetsville to get to the F gates. There’s construction going on at that part of the airport and I had a good laugh when I noticed a 10 foot high pile of gravel right outside gates F96/97 which listed Air Canada 7372 to Washington and Air Canada 7266 to Pittsburgh. I assume the gates were not in use but I did wonder how passengers might climb over the pile.

Yikes, Jan! Glad you're okay.
I highly recommend Midnight as it's a fantastic book, whether you read or listen. I picked up a used paperback copy and it was my "pool book" this summer. But I do like audiobooks very much. (And once you all read it perhaps you will understand my plaintive requests to go see The Lady Chablis! What a great character!)
As to bookmarks: I read very few hard copy books these days, and I have tons of bookmarks--people give them to me! I keep them on my bookshelf and choose one, usually that "goes with" the book I'm reading. I'm weird that way.

Bucky, Captsueb and pamski... here you go again, battening down the hatches. Here’s hoping Michael is a storm in a teacup.

Now I want to go tour Mercer House and see Lady Chablis. Minerva is also a fun character (and the narrator does her voice perfectly!). I guess if our girls trip happens next month to Savannah, I can go. Not sure the other gals will be into it but I can always uber to the sites!
As for the hurricane, it looks like it is swinging northeasterly over the top portion of Florida. We've gotten some rain and wind but nothing to worry about yet.

They had Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil on Ovation last night. After listening to the audio book, I was slightly disappointed at how they changed things around, omitted things, etc. I know you can't keep every aspect of a book, but I guess you get certain things pictured in your head .... They are replaying it again at 1:30 AM tonight if anyone wants to watch.
