Something I just thought of: beach chairs? Or can they be rented, or cheaply purchased? (Possibly the latter as it will be after the season) ETA: Found this--on 15th Street, so not too far. An umbrella would be nice (Honestly, I can't take that much sun) but if I can buy a cheap chair I'll be good. I'll just leave it at the house when I'm done.

If anyone else needs the address for the rental for driving or whatever, I will PM it to you. Not sure we want that floating out in the open but will post if no one objects. Kathee said the bar is stocked with glasses and ice buckets so I think we should be ok. I agree that it would be preferable to limit the address to PMs.

As for beach chairs, I do not have any but can probably borrow a few from my sister. I will report back on that as soon as I can. I can also check with Kathee about the chairs again, coolers, etc. Not sure -- my mind is a blur this morning ... Sorry have been AWOL. Been out of town and just getting back. 22 days to go folks!

I can borrow a couple of beach chairs -- are you meaning the lounge type ones or just "sitting" ones? I looked at the website -- quite steep to rent! I won't be able to get 10 or fit 10 in my car, but will do my best to get as many as possible. I am usually fine sitting on a beach towel. I need to revisit my e-mails with Kathee about chairs but I vaguely remember her answer .... (sorry, still in mind fog after travelling).
Would anyone want one of those kind of pop up tent canopy/shade? I can also get my hands on one of those. I just have a singular beach umbrella to bring.
What else?

Sitting ones are fine for me (I prefer the kind that are lower in the sand, if you know what I mean). An adjustable back would be ideal. I can't sit on a beach towel for long, my back can't take it.
An umbrella or the pop-up shade would be wonderful if you can fit it in the car. If not, don't worry about it. I'll figure something out.
Like I said, I'm happy to buy one for $10 or less and leave it at the house. Same with an umbrella/shade. Is there a Target/Walmart/whatever nearby, I wonder?

I can probably get both kinds of chairs, more the sitting kind though. I also like the lower ones where you can sit at the edge of the water and let the waves roll in! And I can probably fit both the umbrella and canopy in my car as well. Done deal.
I am kind of hoping for a "bathtub" -- but may have been a fluke -- when we were at my ex boss' beach house a few years ago, the sand created what we called the "bathtub." It was a depression in the sand in between the sand bars and water that you could sit in drink your cocktails. The water was super warm and it was heaven.
There is a Target and Wal-Mart on the way into Tybee Island off of 80. Let me confirm this weekend how many I can get and if we'd need more.

I have found out that the house has a beach wagon and some beach chairs. I will bring a couple chairs as well.
I can't believe how close we are to the moot!

Anyone have any requests on magazine beach reads?
I usually get a tabloid and woman’s magazine for reading on the beach so my iPad doesn’t get messed up.
I thought we could have like 4 or 5 magazines to look at for the house.
My faves are First Magazine, People, Woman’s World Weekly and the tabloid that has the most interesting headlines.

I have a bunch of magazines that I can bring. People, Woman's Day, Family Circle -- that kind of genre. They are a few weeks old but still a good read when you need it (my sister passed them along and I didn't have a chance to read all of them). Anyone have a portable radio? I was at my sister's house on Sunday --- she has low beach chairs I can borrow so I will fit as many into the car as I can! And I checked out her beach sun shade. It is extra large and quite sturdy. It'll be just what we need to ward off the sun when we want to.

It's official.
2 weeks to go folks!
Can you believe it?!! That came upon us quicker than I thought it would. Again, I have a ton of SP30 and some SP50 sunscreen to share so unless you want something different, I should have plenty. Stocked up on disposable plates, cups, bowls and utensils. Just to make things easier on days we don't want to deal with it. Also got laundry detergent. Have 2 litre sodas and cases of water. Got different beers, but if you want wine you are on your own as I know nada about it. Packed a bunch of games to play -- bring your quarters!!

I was just thinking about this last night. I can get sunblock free with HSA. So I can get some more spf 50, if wanted. I also saw that CVS had buy $15 work of air fresheners and get extra bucks back. I checked the fragrances and overdid it. My asthma didn’t appreciate me doing that. LOL! ‘DOH!
I got two little prizes for the winner of the card and/or LCR tournament. I thought we could keep tabs on who wins and the person with the most wins gets bragging rights and a prize.
I will also remember to bring a roll of quarters and can’t wait to see all of you again!

I am getting us a first aid kit - partly for us and when I go on vacay with the family- so, I got reg band aids, finger tip band aids, neosprin, Tylenol, Advil, pepto bismol, Benadryl, pads and tape for big boo-boos and wipes.
I was also thinking reusable ice pack and cotton swabs or so.
Anyone think of something else? Or that is good or don’t need?

My philosophy is I would bring the whole kitchen sink if I could! Better to be prepared, but am trying to scale it down so I am not bringing tons of stuff back home unused/unconsumed. I tend to over pack and bring unnecessary stuff, especially clothes.
Bring what you think you need. The store is a short distance away if we need anything.
