Thursday. I'm arriving on Wednesday, I mean, we'll probably hang out and have dinner and stuff, but nothing organized.

I so want to come to HH2016! Just need some planets to align ...
If I came in, it would be Wednesday as well. I would fly into PIT (12:25 PM). Would anyone be arriving around that time who is renting a car or passing through? Otherwise, I can jump on a bus for arrival in ERI at 7:05 PM. There is only one train from PIT to ERI and it's an overnighter (departs 11:59 PM with a stop/layover in CLE with arrival at 7:20 AM). Not going to work.
Anyone needing a roommate?

Possibly myself and the Cabingirls. I need to talk to Susana to solidify our plans, do you need to know right away or can I let you know after I do so?

I wouldn’t mind doing a rollaway – just to cut costs of not having to pay for a room by myself! My thought was to change my current flight to PHL to PIT instead; then from HH2016, I would head to Buffalo on Monday via bus/train for two days to see family (and eat!) and then fly to PHL on 9/14 to get my rental car and head to Tracy’s wedding. Doable, but a lot of factors come into play. ETA: I had found a $58 flight from BUF to PHL this morning, but now it is $100 more for the same flight. Grr. So, I couldn’t wait too long before I would have to make start rearranging travel plans. Maybe mid-August? Is Cabinboy not attending? I'd love a rummy rematch with him and Dr. May.

I believe Mr. Cabinboy will be attending. Just haven't talked to Cabingirl in a while because she was away visiting our mom and just got back a couple of days ago. I'll try to talk to her this weekend so hopefully I'll know more next week.

Things are coming together very quickly now. Dates are firm: arrival Wed., Sept. 7 (or very early Thurs., Sept. 8: we'll be leaving for the parade of sail by 1 or 2 p.m. to get a good place to see). Pizza and movie (or possibly grilling out and movie!) (not to be confused with Netflix and chill, you filthy-minded perverts) I think will be on Saturday, also the day sail if I can still get tickets for Saturday. Sunday can be free time--I know some will be checking out on Sunday. The day sail may be Sunday if I can't get Saturday, so we'll have to work quickly.
I don't have definite confirmation yet but the hotel rate I was quoted is $99. Will be firmed up this week. All rooms are suites with full kitchen and there's a Wegmans nearby so eating can be inexpensive if needed.

I wish I were the hostess with the organization and had everything in place a couple of months ago...apologies for the last-minuteness. I'm just hoping everyone rolls with it!

I wonder if they carry Bison chip dip at that location .... The hotel rate sounds great. Do you have a link to it? Am watching that BUF-PHL fare like a hawk. It's bound to go back down to that $58 price at some point. Still on my "hope" list to try and connect these two events.

Wegman's?!! It's the best store ever! It's the happiest place on earth, besides BAAAAHHHHHHTH (for benefit of Nigel, who objects to my pronunciation of Bath). Not yet. The hotel rep promised by Friday. We'll get you a bed, don't worry.

I talked to Cabingirl. Anybody else flying into Pittsburgh? She mentioned she can take a couple of people to Erie when we drive up on Wednesday. She cannot post here but if you send me a PM we can coordinate.

I checked .... the Wegman's in Erie have Bison chip dip. Urk. Drools. It's the best chip dip ever. We can't get it here in Florida. And I see that Wegman's are in the Philly area too. Looks like I will be making a pit stop on my way back to the Philly airport from the wedding to get some dip to take on the plane with me.
Oh and I see that they have several Tim Horton's in Erie as well ..... I would be in heaven.
Thanks for the PM, SOTL. I think this is going to doable. Just need to figure out the who, what and where between the con and the wedding. Squeeee!
Thanks for all the info and putting it all together Mags!

Bucky--clear your cookies and try the airfare again. I saw that on a travel video on how to get cheap fares recently. They know you've already looked up the fare and you're interested and will hike the fare.
Also it was suggested to try calling a travel agent. They sometimes have access to the cheaper fares.

Thanks Mags. I cleared the cookies but same price. Even checked booking.com and other sites. Will just have to keep looking and delete cookies at home and try. We have used a travel agent here at the firm but not so much in the last couple of years with this age of do-it-yourself travel planning. 49 days!
