Take Pictures for me!!!!! I will be thinking of all of you!!!! HUGS!!!! I am bringing my camera. Whether I get any pictures off is a lesser known idea! I brought it to Baltimore and I don't think I took more than 5 pictures. But I hope to take more this time around. We'll miss you Jamers and anyone else not able to attend.

I'm not 100% certain, but I may be able to swing this trip after all (thought I was all out of vacation time, but turns out system is wildly inaccurate). Which airports are people flying into?

I was in the same boat, Sandra, since Tracy's wedding is the following weekend. But the planets aligned. Hopefully they will for you too!! I think a few are flying to Pittsburgh -- maybe some directly to Erie? I am rescheduling my flight up to PIT at 4:25 PM on Wednesday. I believe the Otters land about the same time.

Pittsburgh seems to be a popular choice.

I'll be coming in at Buffalo.
When can we reserve rooms at the hotel?

I'll be coming in at Buffalo. Cool! You have to stop for a beef on weck somewhere. So good. I dream of them. That is one thing if we ever do an un-con at Niagara Falls --- the food! Just need to deal with SW in rebooking my flight up -- should be easy, but for some reason it won't let me change the arrival city.

All right. Someone was finally honest with me at the hotel and said they are "between managers" and there is no one to arrange a block of rooms. So just make a reservation. It's a little more expensive than the person who quoted me a price, I'm afraid...I'm seeing around $143 a night. Sorry about that. I'm not really happy about it. I wish they had just been honest with me from the beginning and said, "Go to the website and take your chances." Let me know if you can't get a room that you want and we'll figure something out. I would not recommend getting something non-refundable, though it is cheaper, because there may be some crazy disaster where we have to switch hotels. The hotel is the Candlewood Suites Erie. Yes, each room has a full kitchen, and there is a workout room. Sadly, no bar. But there appear to be public areas where we can gather, and each room is a "suite" so there are sofas and stuff and we can sit in someone's room and play games or watch movies. I couldn't get the one-bedroom suite; I'm told there is one for the whole hotel. I will get together some kind of registration website and form over the weekend. It will be $45 for the con fee (includes passes for visiting the ships and the Maritime Museum as well as Saturday night dinner) and $43 for the optional day sail. I apologize again for the last-minuteness and disorganization.

The white hots (sausages) are great, too. Especially with mustard from Wegman's.
Not to mention the tomatoes, peaches, corn... so much better than what we get out here. If you see a farmstand, Phizz, it's worth checking out.
And of course, the Buffalo Wings! Sheesh, we would have booked our flight to Buffalo if the return times had fit, but PIT worked better for us. So, Bucky, if we get in on time and all, you're welcome to hitch a ride. Either we'll have a quick stop off at the Cabingirls or drive directly to Erie. We'll keep all options open!

Sheesh, we would have booked our flight to Buffalo if the return times had fit, but PIT worked better for us. Definitely - the produce is great. The region is well known for its cuisine. I could eat a BOW every meal. And yes, the chicken wings! The Anchor Bar downtown, home of the chicken wing, is always a good choice. Duff's is also very authentic for wings. Really, anywhere in Buffalo! Same with where you can get a BOW. Thanks for the offer! I am working to switch my flight to land at 4:25 PM. A few glitches with SW yesterday (the route would appear and then disappear on their schedule - very strange) and then it would not allow me to change my destination. So I am calling customer service today to get that changed. Thanks for the info Mags. Will check it out. Looks like a double queen runs $164 a night. We’ll have to check the neighboring locations to maybe find a bar that we can congregate! I definitely have games to bring, plus a new one that was added to my family’s game night this year. ETA: I see from the pictures that they have an outdoor patio/bbq area with tables. Maybe that can be our gathering spot too if we want to stick close to the hotel?

Yeah! cannot believe we are so close.
Saw this this morning -- #1 Grocery Store Maybe once we survey the area (i.e. the patio area), we can do a run to Wegman's. I can make some quick and easy apps in the kitchen for game time!
