Well, the fates have turned. Kind of weird how things turn out. But, low and behold, things have definitely taken a turn. Oh yes. Well played, fate! I got an unexpected check this week, which will pay for almost the entire trip. And then someone reached out to me to see if I still needed a roommate. And, with a week to spare before registration, it looks like both of us will be coming to Charleston. I'll let her post and tell you who she is. Cannot wait to see everyone! I will be driving and planning on bringing some goodies, a cooler and my Ninja blender (if we need another one - Pam?). I can also do airport runs to and from. 38 days to go!

So true, we make plans and life intervenes. So while our family plans to go to Spain fell through, that means I can go to Charleston! <insert dancing Byron>
Already sent my registration this morning. Woohoo!

Woohoo! Over the moon Gaby! Like I said, sorry that your plans for Spain fell through though. But when a door closes, a window opens somewhere. I was kind of bummed that I wouldn't be attending and then, a supply ship showed up and rescued me. So glad that we'll both be going. Was filling out the registration on line, but it says I need to get a password from horatians.org. Since I can't access the old forum, anyone know what it is?

The password is 'horry' all in small caps. Dang spammers! I couldn't get rid of them otherwise, we had a flood last year.
I am very happy for you to have that extra cash so you can attend as well.

Well, I will be with you in spirit and I will miss you dearly. I re-figured my finances to see if I could go and it was still a no go. Oh well. BUT - on the other hand, Woo Hoo to Bucky and Gaby!!! Hugs to you and I can't wait to see those pictures! Have a drink for me.

I hear ya Jamie. That is why I could not come last year. Is this the first year you can't attend?
I hope to see you in St. Augustine next year. Such a great city with such history.
Now if I can remember my Paypal sign in info ....... otherwise, my registration check will go out in the mail on Monday.
Don't forget to go to the Charleston Visitor website and print out coupons. I highly recommend clipping the Tommy Condon Irish Pub and AW Shucks to eat at downtown near the Market.

My trip to England has been postponed until next May, so I will be joining the muster as well. I'm sad about my trip, but glad I'll be able to come to Charleston!

I'm ever so bummed that I can't come this year and quite likely next year is out too, unless I get an unexpected windfall from somewhere. Even thought I've quite enjoyed being a student again, it rather blows in some respects. I will miss you all terribly. *sniffle* Bucky, Gaby and Mags - I'm really happy for you though. Well, I will be with you in spirit and I will miss you dearly. I re-figured my finances to see if I could go and it was still a no go. Oh well. Ah, so you won't be going either, Jamie. Must be the first time in the history off HH gatherings. But what can you do, stuff happens... We'll just be there in spirit, as you said.

Could someone give me the link to the convention website? I used to access it through Horatians.
My house construction projects are pretty much under control now so the beginning of October looks good. I don't know how much airfares are for continental US flights but I've found a round trip fare from here for under $380 (US) - all taxes included - with decent departure times and only one connection each way.
I'd arrive around noon on Wednesday the 2nd and fly out on Tuesday the 8th around noon.
So, to emulate Bucky, does anyone need a roommate?

Wish I could come but as always wrong timing for me - particularly this year as I am somewhat more loaded than usual with teaching - I am double-teaching one module, and teaching first 6 weeks of another module so I can stop at end of week 6. Those of you who are friends on Facebook know why....

Mags - so glad that you are coming too! If all goes as planned, I should be cruising into Charleston about 12:30-1:00 (am going to try and leave Orlando earlier but I have to drop my Dad off that morning before hopping on the interstate, so if I can get him out the door early, then my ETA will be closer to Noon-12:30). Departure will be either Monday or Tuesday. I have that whole week off. Will be glad to do airport runs.
