Hi Patty! Of course we remember you. We are so sorry you could not get to the site. Unfortunately you were not the only member who had this problem, something to do with the forum software we were using. So we had to move to a brand new place, which is why you had to register again, we all did. After months of having problems, our QueueMistress set this place up. We are very glad you are here after all this time but so sorry you won't be able to make it to Charleston. I suspect you are not the only one who may have been left behind. So sad. Edit: You know, I was thinking, is it because of the registration deadline that you think you might not be able to come? We would not turn you away if you still wanted to register and were able to make plans to come. Just let us know and we'll see what we can do. We understand if it is not possible for planning purposes but we would never turn a shipmate away.

Oh Patty, you should definitely come! Where would the ship's company be without our Queen of the Stripey Shirts? Hope to see you there.

We all had to re-register here Patty as we have moved the site entirely due to the issues people were having with the previous site. A lot of people could not access it at all or only intermittently.

I remember trying to get to this site since early spring. I finally gave up and was so sad that I could not join in the hilarity that ensues here. Now, as for going to Charleston, NOW it is the money situation for me. Since I could not get to the site, I figured I could not go so I did not save enough money for going. I would not be able to pay for anything til the first of October. and I guess that would be cutting it too short. Do you think so?

Patty--contact Estelle and see what can be done!!!
A lot of people were having problems with the old site--I'm so sorry you weren't able to get help with it. This is an entirely new site and everyone had to re-register.

Patty, you are most welcome to come! I kept hoping to see your registration come across. Your paying at the first of October works for me. However, you won't be able to sign up for the Horatian block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Riverview, since Sept. 2 was the due date. However, the hotel rates are pretty reasonable, and you might be able to share a room. Please consider coming.

We're under three weeks away. So stoked. Estelle - are we getting a block of rooms or will it be wherever? And are we allowed to do room signs? 19 days!

I don't know if the rooms set aside for us are close together. And, yes, you can do room signs and use the meeting room for early morning exercises. We have use of the room for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Another group had already reserved it for Sunday (and this had been done back in February. when I was making inquiries). I have an off-site location set up for our Sunday evening festivities. Estelle

Thanks for the info Estelle! Not sure about need the room for exercising anymore -- is anyone interested in burning some calories in the morning before the activities? If it is just me, I'll just use the treadmill in the fitness room. We'll be doing a lot of walking as it is. Of course, I have the best intentions of getting some exercise in, but you know how it is on vacation sometimes .....

I do the treadmill too and the exercise bike. I didn't check to see if the hotel exercise rooms has any kind of weigh/resistance machines. I need to do those for my back since I have neck problems. The hotel in Philly last year had a pretty good exercise room. Most hotel exercise facilities are just a treadmill and/or bike. Philly had free weights and one multi purpose machine. I wouldn't mind exercising with you in the morning. Let's see the schedule when we get there and figure what mornings would be best.

It's not a big fitness room. Only a couple of machines - I think a few treadmills, an eliptical and recumbant bike. I'd swim laps in the pool in the morning, but not sure it'll be warm enough since it is outside. And it'd be nice to walk outside but I'd have to look at the location. US 17 is a busy road, so I have a feeling there would be a lot of stopping and starting crossing roads. I do have a lot of Walk Away the Pounds dvds. 16 days to go!

Boo hoo. I guess I will have to sit this one out. I'd rather get the con rate for a room. I think I would stress myself out too much paying for everything at the last minute, etc.! Hope to join you all next time! I wonder where the next shindig will be held!

Bwah! I wonder how many other shipmates missed out for the same reason. You might want to bookmark hornblowergatherings.com for news just in case. I try to have information about the cons over there.

I'm sorry you won't be coming to Charleston, Patty. Here's to next year's con in St. Augustine! I haven't been there since I was a kid and will enjoy going back.
