Had an HH (as in you guys!) moment today when I heard "Appalachian Spring" on the radio! It reminded me of our wonderful guide at Shaker Village, Kentucky and the song "Simple gift."

Did anybody else watch "Jeopardy" last night? Under the category "Small State Capitals," the answer was (something like) "The Buffalo Trace Distillery ( followed by some other wording)...."
Of course, I yelled out "What is Lexington, Kentucky!!!!" And then immediately realized, oops, no not Lexington, the other town, uh, uh, uh, "Frankfort!!!"
That was a great tour!

That was a great tour! I even found a drink using Buffalo Trace at one of my local restaurants! I think the name of it was "Canon punch!"

So it was my dad's birthday and my sister and I went to his house and he and his girlfriend had made this lovely roast chicken. My dad took it out of the oven and offered it to my sister saying: 'You do the honours.' My sister asks: 'How do I cut it?' To which I of course replied: 'With a quick chopping motion, like rock ape' Lydia

At the end of Episode 1, Season 1 of TURN, the character Caleb Brewster steals a boat (shades of Bunting) and escapes. The episode closes with a nice rendition of SPANISH LADIES. Reminiscent of our Captain Sawyer.
Yours Aye,
Diane

Yesterday's Sunday crossword puzzle had a theme wherein many of the solutions ended in (....city). The clue for 28 Across was "astuteness". I may or may not have yelled "I commend you on your perspicacity". I did, however, have trouble spelling it right because Captain Foster puts an extra syllable in it.

I'm going to have fifty HH moments... one of the questions on the midterm I just gave will be correctly answered with "Horatio Nelson."

We have staff appreciation week at our firm and one of the things they wanted was everyone to share a tidbit about themselves that people probably don't know. So, instead of saying that I can write words just as fast backwards as I can forwards ( very rare and hidden talent!) I put that I belong to a group of angophiles that are into the British Navy of the Napoleonic era and had dinner on the ship that they filmed Horatio Hornblower on with the star (Ioan) and two other cast members. My tidbit was featured on the first day in a blast e-mail to the whole firm. Talk about people saying what?!

Wow, Bucky, that's amazing. Most people around me don't know about HH.
They have a new flavor of fancy coffee at our local Wawa convenience store - Bananas Foster! Had to try it! It's sweet and good. :-)

Love it Jamie!
Oh, and there is a jazz station here at our local university, and one of the DJ's names is Jack Simpson!
