I'm on Horatio'd watch. I started at 8am today at work and I am still working until 10 pm tonight. I need Matthews and Archie to keep me awake. Mountain Dew and Wawa coffee with have to suffice.

I heard someone blow a demolition horn today. It made me think of Horatio, who would probably think it was someone playing music.

I have a small anxiety problem that I have mostly under control and when I get anxious about something, I try to calm myself down. One of the things I think about is our times together over the years. I want to thank all of you for giving me many happy thoughts. I would have to say that over 75% of my thoughts are times spent with you, from looking up that sailor's pant leg - which led to the saying- we make sailors blush, to making a crabby old man yell - no screaming on my boat - when we saw the Indefatigable water taxi, to having people want to be with us because they saw we were having a great time together. Too many to count. It has been a wonderful 16 years and hugs to all! Thank you!

I've been away for a few days - my brother's just got married to a Spaniard, so they've had the wedding in Spain. Her father's from a town called Alcalá de Henares just outside Madrid, and is the birthplace of Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote. And I had to stop myself from describing Don Quixote as 'a man who jousts with windmills' in a faux Spanish accent... SF

Yesterday's Sunday crossword puzzle had a theme wherein many of the solutions ended in (....city). The clue for 28 Across was "astuteness". I may or may not have yelled "I commend you on your perspicacity". I did, however, have trouble spelling it right because Captain Foster puts an extra syllable in it. (Double-posting, oops; can't figure out how to copy the quote itself to edit it into my previous.) No he doesn't - at least, not that I can hear. As far as I can tell, he says "I congratulate you for your perspicacity, sir!" Or something very like it. SF

It was trying to stick that extra "i" in there that messed up my crossword. :-)

Was watching an old BURNS AND ALLEN tv episode on AntennaTV network. The character 'Harry' (Larry Keating(who was also in MR ED)) accused George of prevarication. Hysterical episode. I think it was Season 7, Episode 8.
Yours Aye,
Diane

Had a great moment at the library today. As I was leaving, a young woman pulled in beside my car and got out and came over and asked if my license plate (HMS INDY) had anything to do with the Hornblower series! *cue big sappy smile*. I told her yes it did and she asked if she could take a picture of it to show her BF. I said "of course" and we got into a discussion about HH. I told her about the dinner on the Grand Turk and how we got to meet some of the actors. Anyway left with a big smile on my face.

Wow, having someone recognize these things is rare. You're lucky. Although maybe it helped that you were at a library? Was she interested in HH herself or was it mainly for her BF? And you have "HMS INDY" as a license plate? Cool. I'm slightly jealous.

And you have "HMS INDY" as a license plate? Cool. I'm slightly jealous. I think she was interested for herself too as the comments she made showed that she knew the show. I'm not sure if being at the library made it more likely to have an HH moment as I' ve had them elsewhere. Yeah I was totally psyched when the DMV approved my request for the personalized license plates!! Took a wrench with me to work and got them on my lunch hour and put them on right there in the parking lot! ~Phizz

This occurrence makes me smile daily. As part of the display at work we have a plastic cooked chicken. So when a child is messing with it too much I get to utter the line "Put the chicken down! (whispers "Styles")" hee hee.
