Here is the teaser trailer for Richard's next movie, Into the Storm, which opens in August. It looks....um.....a lot like Twister. That isn't really a compliment. If semi-trailers and airplanes are being blown off course, there is no way one human being would be able to hold on to another human being to prevent her from being snatched by the wind. Physics is always true, y'all. I'll probably still see it in the theater, though.

To be fair to the probably cheesy plot, the storm that Richard (John?) is saving the girl from, is probably one of the smaller storms that come before the big one. It does look a lot like Twister, though.

It does look a lot like Twister, though. Oddly enough, his character isn't called John this time around. It's Gary. Disaster movies always have cheesy plots; it is the way of the world. If it was anything like realistic, it would be far too depressing for anybody to want to see. Which makes me wonder why disaster movies exist, but that's a whole other discussion.

Yow! I realize I haven't been on this thread in a while. What's wrong with me? And what is it about the awesome noses of Englishmen?
Anyway, I'm dropping in to mention that you can now get Georgette Heyer's novel The Convenient Mareiage in audiobook read by RA. I just splurged on myself this morning. Instant gratification.
Here's looking back at you, kids.

Ah, yes. I wish he would do more Georgettes but I think he's busy with other things.

Like fake tornado movies?
We saw the trailer in the theater when we went to see Godzilla (cheesy but cute) and decided right there that we were going to give Into The Storm a miss. It's a little too close to home for us.
The part of Twister that gets me is that the girl is holding on to the pipe thing and she's not getting pounded with all of the debris that tornadoes pick up. With all of the aluminum sideing that gets used out here ... I'll leave it to your imagination. One should worry less about being sucked up than being skewered. Brrrrr.
RA needs to find himself a movie that will see him in a yoo-nee-form. Naval, preferably. Queue optional (for some, at least).

I still want him to play Laurence if Peter Jackson ever gets around to making the Temeraire films. In the beginning he would have a Royal Navy youneeform of the Napoleonic period.
