I think coming up with a schedule is good since some of these times overlap or are at the same time. So, the high tea will probably be on Friday? And 16 people just to be sure. 12 people, I think. I have 4 no and 12 yes on the email thread and I believe that's everybody accounted for. LouLou, Minsky and friend are not sure and want to decide when they get there......

Got an email from her this morning saying no thank you for the three of them. Unless you've heard anything more recently?

Weather in Quebec - I found a cool weather website. Says average temperatures are around late 50s to high 60s in F. Here's the link - www.timeanddate.com/weather/canada/quebecSo, wear layers! When I went to Germany, I was told it was going to be cold, so I brought winter style clothing. I had to buy summer shirts! So, my suggestion is to bring those short sleeved shirts and bring along a cardigan or sweatshirt. Plus, as always and we all know this. It doesn't bother repeating comfy shoes and a rain coat, too! Hugs! I can't believe I actually fit everything in the carry on. Those packing cubes are amazing. 😁

OK so I will make the reservation for 12 for high tea on Friday. Done. I am not a tea drinker and am going to inquire if I can just order coffee and make a dessert or appetizer.

Bucky I hope you're in a good place as it looks like Hurricane Irma is going to really wallop Florida ~Phizz Yeah, things are a little crazy here. Hubs went to Sam's yesterday and it was a zoo. Thankfully we normally have water, canned goods and batteries on hand. So he picked up the necessities that he could. I have to fill my gas tank before there is none to get, and then Friday/Saturday fill everything we can with water (tub, pitchers, bowls) and wait it out. Since we're about 50 miles inland we won't get the brunt that the coast will, but will definitely get severe storms, rain and wind.

Hi! Sorry I've missed some of this. So High tea on Friday afternoon and the Citadel tour Friday night?
Is there a walking tour we've scheduled, too? Trying to figure out what days we have booked.
I wouldn't mind the Hop on Hop off bus on Thursday AM. Is there someone we owe money to
yet? Sorry if I'm repeating stuff everyone already knows.
Hope all our FL peeps made out OK with Irma. Can't wait to see everyone! If you need me to book
something, I'm happy to.
Thanks, Pam

I am in the process of contacting the walking tour people and can put it on my credit card. I am thinking Saturday morning, leaning towards the 10AM one. I sent an email to everyone and I posted on the walking tour thread.
I like the idea of doing the Hop on Hop off bus on Thursday.

Thanks for doing this, Gaby! Can't wait! The Sat AM walk sounds good, then we could possibly
do the cruise at 2PM.
Take care, Pam

High tea is confirmed for 3:00 on Friday. If you want an earlier time, please let me know. That is the time she proposed.
Since I haven't had internet access too often and I don't want to scroll back pages, did someone post that they got Canadian currency already? Do most banks have it?
Gaby -- I PMed you about the room. Let me know.

Tracy, Phizz said she got some Canadian dollars from Wells Fargo bank. Based on what I've read so far, banks in Quebec will change your American bucks and it looks like the rates and fees are about the same as here in the US.
While on the subject of currency... I have a question for those who have already booked, or will be booking, stuff for our group: Would you prefer to be reimbursed in US or Canadian dollars?
And thanks to you all for arranging it!

I'm thinking Canadian, because then we don't have to fool with the exchange rate. And it's a low-effort way for me to get my pocket money. :-) Truly, either would be fine, though. And the Citadel tour is booked! It is going to be at 7:30 and there may be other people along. I could swear they told me they could do a private tour on Friday night, but then they told me they couldn't. They also said it's a good idea to show up 15 minutes early because they start on time and don't wait for stragglers. Speaking of cash, my last several international trips, including Canada, I've been able to use my ATM card to draw cash in the local currency. You get the best exchange rates because they're part of a big network and the fees are comparable to the service fees you'd pay to a bank. Both in Toronto and in Edinburgh I just used an ATM at the airport. If you have Plus (Visa logo) or Cirrus (Mastercard logo) you should be good to go. Tell the bank you're traveling, too.
